How to get LOR?

I graduate from high school long early in 2012. After then I enrolled in some engineering college and later dropped out without completing a year. I did not attend my regular classes, as I was very ill. This extends from the start of 11th grade to the end of 12th grade. Though I planned to take a drop and reappear for 12th next year but this does not work, because of peer pressure. I planned to apply this fall, but I am finding difficulty seeking LOR. Its almost a gap of 2 years now. The teachers who used to taught me no longer work there. Their is a new appointed principal. As the new staff don’t know much about me, and they’ve never interacted with me, how can they suppose to write LOR. Now from whom should I get LOR.

What about your 11th grade teachers? They can also write your LOR’s!

They’re the same teachers who left the school.

If you have attended any engineering classes, you have to apply as a transfer applicant and not as a freshman applicant.
I don’t understand. Have you finished 12th?

I will not apply as transfer but as a freshman. And yes I am high school graduate.

No but what Hezekiel said is important. If you’re gonna provide transcripts from your college, you’ll be automatically rejected. I suggest shooting your colleges an email about this matter.

No, I am not gonna send college transcripts but just high school.

If you have taken college classes, you have to apply as a transfer student, and send in your college transcripts. You don’t have a choice.

You don’t seem to understand about entering freshman status for US colleges and universities. Or, maybe you do understand. Any classes taken after high school, even if is just one class, counts as “post-secondary” class and this means that you have to apply as a transfer student for US schools. You have to be honest.

IF YOU LIE OR try to OMIT the engineering courses (which it sounds like this is what you plan on doing) and only send your high school marks, you will be eventually caught with lying and you will be rejected by ALL schools in the US. The universities communicate with each other and if you attempt to get freshman status, to get financial aid from the schools, you can be charged with the crime of fraud. Yes, it is a criminal action.

Now here’s the part that really sucks for you, based on what you’ve written here, your English skills are questionable so even if you apply, your grammatical skills are weak and will be a red flag for rejection.

BE HONEST, do not lie or omit information because it will follow you forever and you will be deported immediately.

how would a college in the US find out if the applicant has attended college in India , I am by no means suggesting fraud to set the record straight, but I honestly think its far fetched to think that a college in the US will ever find out if the student has ever sought post-secondary education. And since the OP has has dropped out of college he is left in limbo, so just go ahead with asking any body you know who still works at your school to help you out … this is not “CSI”

You can apply as a freshman to some places if I am not wrong, but you’ll probably have to provide transcripts from your engineering college. Regarding LORs, if you can’t contact your teachers(try your best to do this. This is vital. If you really want something, you need to strive really hard for it…) try and get involved in unpaid/paid research at universities near your home. It’s important to pick something that interests you. Maybe a mentor can provide an LOR. Most probably however if I remember clearly, schools require a Teacher LOR, so please ask a principal or anyone for help with this. That being said, my advice is probably not worth that of the actual college in question, so email them and describe your situation EXACTLY. It’ll all work out though! Don’t be afraid to take a gap year as well, if necessary…
