How to improve in Geometry and AP Gov't?

These two classes are the only two hurting my GPA.
I have a C in Geometry HN and a C+ in Government.
I’ve tried studying.
In Geometry, I’d study and swear I know the stuff, but when I get my tests back, I always do something wrong. It’s one of those I thought it was right kind of things. Like, it seemed right to me at the time. There’s so much theorems/postulates, I can barely keep up!
In Government, I don’t even know. My teacher barely teaches us anything. We basically have to learn from the book and that’s hard for me. I need to be taught. It’s hard for me to learn in the book by myself.

Any tips on how to improve?
I’ve already gotten a C+ in AP Gov’t in the first quarter. I really don’t want another one.
For geometry, I’m pretty sure that C is final. Even if we have like, three more weeks until report cards come.
I still have a chance to bring my AP Gov’t grade up. I have an Iran test coming up the 17th.

What do you guys do to learn by yourself? Or how do you improve? What are some of your studying techniques? I could really use some help.

Thanks in advance!
