How to prepare for TOEFL in 1 weeks to get possible higher score ?

I have intermediate English language level. I have watched videos on writing and section section of Notefull. I have taken mock test on Reading and Listening section twice. My latest score is 27 on both. Though, I haven’t done practices on Writing and Speaking section. I am planning to apply to some of the most competitive schools. As, I have very limited time I am very stressed about the preparation and scores.

Please mention some preparation tips. Your every comments will be very helpful.

It might be easier to suggest options if you had more than one week.

You should keep in mind that if you don’t do well enough, then you can wait a few months while studying English and then take it again. Depending upon when you need to submit your test scores to schools that you are applying to, this might delay your admissions to universities. Of course you would want your English to be strong before starting at a competitive university since the most competitive universities are academically challenging even for strong students who have English as their native language.

The most obvious suggestion is to try to immerse yourself in English for the week. Watch TV and movies in English. Talk to anyone you know who speaks English as much as you can. Encourage people to correct your English if they catch any errors (such as “How to prepare for TOEFL in 1 week to possibly get a higher score” rather than “How to prepare for TOEFL in 1 weeks to get possible higher score”). Read news in English and watch news on English language TV. This has the advantage that you are likely to have already seen the news in your native language and therefore will have some idea what they are talking about for most news stories.

What country do you live in? Are there English immersion courses where you are? I know a couple of people who took French immersion courses in Canada and liked the course quite a bit. They test you your first day. Then each morning they have classes to teach French (at the appropriate level based on how you tested), and each afternoon they do fun activities while speaking only French. For the first few days some new students don’t get to say much during the afternoon activities, but this gets better quickly. I am assuming that there are similar courses to help people improve their English. However, this will only help you if you have more than one week to study for the TOEFL. The French courses in Canada are very reasonably priced. I have not however priced out any English immersion courses, and you would need to either find one in your part of the world or travel to attend one elsewhere.

Edit: After typing the reply above, I noticed on your other thread that you have been studying in an English language school since grade 1. This suggests that you are likely to do quite well in the TOEFL. You probably do not need to worry too much about it.

Thanks for your reply. It is very helpful.

This is very useful comment for me. I’m going to take a TOEFL exam too soon. These suggestions might help me keep thinking about how bad I’m on English and practicing more and more. Thank you
