How to say "I don't love you anymore"

stuck-on-1700: Nope, in fact I haven’t. Nor have I truly observed and analyzed one, but I can suppose as to what it looks like exactly.
That’s ok, it matters not. But an image that tugs on physical disgust is better than an image that tugs on something like naive emotional matters, in this case.

^ lol but i would still prefer an “image that tugs on something like naive emotional matters”

“but the real reason is that I don’t want to create any new relationships before college.”

… say that?! “i dont love you anymore” sounds overdramatic.

lol. i broke up w/ my ex 2 months ago too… and he still thinks there’s a chance… sometimes i got sooo annoyed, i just said “i dont love you anymore”. yeah it hurt him, but any other euphemism won’t get the point across. and it’s better for him to move on than to keep hoping. he’s going off to college in 2 weeks so that might help the situation a bit.

here is the ultimate solution to your dilemma:

when he is going off to college, go there to say: Goddbye. not see you later, say goodbye and tell him that he might never get the chance to see you again. Then tell him that htere is no hope and that the realtionship is doomed to fail and that a long distance relationship will only make the two of you grow furthur apart, not closer.

Try that (in your own words or whatever makes you feel comfortable) and see what happens. (and it won’t hurt to give him a little hug either).

actually the same issue here!! xpt it’s my FIRST time… i’ve never even broken up with anyone before so it’s awkward… but also in some ways i don’t WANT to break up wiht him; i have to because see below
but in my case it’s different cuz he lives literally on the other side of earth.

just tell him “I’m not dating before college. Sorry!”

hahaha. that wouldn’t be hurtful or anything!

^^ you know, it really wouldn’t. she’s not trashing the guy or anything. He has nothing to feel hurt about.

my ex… everytime he said “i love you” i said “that’s nice” but wouldnt say it back. eventually he got the hint and we broke up with each other at the same time rather nicely

Just tell him that you don’t want to deal with a relationship right before college.

It’s not you, it’s me.

There is no possible way for you to do that without hurting his feelings. Trust me.

I think that people should never break up with people, there are usually hard feelings and they won’t do you any favours if you ever need them in the future.
