I know this is a very silly question. My school is not experienced in dealing with US applications. My university advisor asked me how should she seal the envelopes where she placed the secondary school report forms and transcripts. I suppose wax sealing is the best, but my school doesn’t have that stuff. So, stickers, or just plain old glue and tape? Anyone here knows?

Oooh, another student in Malaysia! Malaysia boleh.

My counselor glues the envelopes, then has a stamp that says “Official Documents” which she stamps twice on the envelope on the seal, then signs her signature over the stamps/seal, then tapes the envelope.

Perhaps a little overmuch, but it gets the job done. :D

My envelopes had teacher signatures on the flaps and then they were taped.

guess what my counselor does…she takes the school stamp and stamps thrice across the flap (left, right and middle) and one at the centre of the envelope and one at the bottom…then she takes the stamp having her name and stamps twice again between the school stamps in the middle…and then, i am not finished yet(!!), in the end she signs across the flaps twice!!..phew!!..what a silly procedure!!

whew! Is that necessary???!!!

By the way, is it okay if for all 3 of my letters, my teachers and counselor just had the school stamp stamped once over the flap and did not sign?

it’s really okay i think. most of the teachers in my school just paste the seal (in the form of a sticker) across the flap without signing… i guess they can’t be bothered to do anything else… with so many ppl bugging them for recommendations. At least half the school (that means 300+ ppl) applies to US colleges every year!

gosh, thanks for the feedback. In the end this is what we decided to do: glued the seal of the envelope, pasted a sticker over the seal, signed half on the seal and half on the envelope and lastly stamped the school chop half on the seal and half on the envelope.

very unnecessary and redundant.
