I don’t actually apply for college for about 2 years, but I have made a common app account so I could get a feel for it and fill out some applications for fun without submitting them (yeah so what I enjoy filling out paperwork)
Anyways, I was looking through the Pace University application (since it’s my “realistic top choice” school with NYU being the “It would be really nice but probably won’t happen top choice”) And I noticed that they don’t have any supplemental essays? The only other essay they have is to list community service for the community service scholarship, but they don’t have like a “Why Pace?” essay or something of that sort.
Pace isn’t super selective (it’s like an 80% acceptance rate) and I have relatively above average stats so far for a school with that kind of acceptance rate (because I’m trying to get into the honors college for that sweet 15k minimum scholarship) and I don’t want them to think that I applied to Pace as a safety school if that makes sense since I’ve heard colleges will reject “overqualified” applicants since they don’t want to be a safety school, so it’s important to show interest when applying.
So my question is: is there any way to convince them that I genuinely want to attend Pace and I’m not just applying to it as a safety but without the essay, because there isn’t one?
TL;DR: Pace doesn’t have a supplemental essay, I want to show interest so they don’t reject me for being “overqualified” or think that I’m applying as a safety. what do
