How to Show That I Took a Coursera Class?

I’m going into 10th grade in the fall, and I am very interested in biology. I’ll be taking AP bio among other advanced courses next year, and I am planning to take all the AP science and math classes my high school offers, however there aren’t very many. I want to continue to explore biology more in depth, especially molecular and computational biology, and I’ve seen some interesting courses on Coursera and similar sites. I know I can buy the certificates to prove I took the class but is there any way to show that I took the class when I apply to college?

You can mention it, but that is not really something that colleges look at heavily…See maybe if you can do some research instead.

@bopper I’d love to, especially next summer. My issue is that I don’t have any previous experience or science-oriented extracurriculars except my school’s science club. Do you know of any programs that I could get accepted to without previous experience? I have a UW 4.0 GPA, if that’s relevant. I’d also be open to seeking out research on my own, but again, I’m concerned that I am lacking in experience.
