How Will You Spend Tomorrow??? (November 3rd)

WIthout TALKING politics and staying partisan in specific content, how do you plan to spend tomorrow???

It’s hard for any side to not be a bit emotional. But lets try not to be here(?) It might be interesting (or comforting) to hear how others are planning to engage or disengage from the main event of the day.

I was going to edit to say one more thing…for some reason I can’t edit…

My one more thing - some may want to include the next day(s) as well.

News or no news? Social media watching - or not? Listening to “live” feeds? TV or not a chance?

Checking news periodically during the day to see if there are voting issues anywhere. News all evening with my favorite election reporter at his big board. I don’t expect final counts for a few days. We have a lot of propositions and measures state-wide and county-wide that are of particular interest so I will probably keep checking the local paper web site.

I’ll be going to work for a few hours in the morning - have already voted. At 11am I’ll be reporting to a polling place to be a poll monitor (non-partisan org) for a few hours.

I will be watching the news later in the day. I don’t think I can NOT. I am prepared to sleep on the couch. I may change my mind but I am going to have a hard time turning it off. I’m not especially proud of that!

Wednesday is a WFH day which I have scheduled to be flexible. For sleep, for news, for whatever.

Each day I will do regularly scheduled exercise. That’s my sanity break and the weather will be nice and I want to enjoy - that will be my “refresh”.

I’ll be working and I already voted last Saturday so no going to the voting booth tomorrow.

After work, I will go to the gym, have dinner with the family, and then we will all sit in front of the TV and watch the election coverage from around 7pm - midnight. With that said, I don’t think we will have any definitive presidential election results and closure until the end of the week unless it’s a blow out either direction and one candidate concedes the election results. If the election is contested (litigation) we all might very well be in this for the long haul…I hope not.

Work, come home, eat, watch the news…
Not sure how late I will stay up. In 2016 I didn’t plan to stay up as late as I did, but as the drama was unfolding it was so unbelievable I couldn’t not watch.

70% of possible votes have been cast, so with only 30% left to be potentially cast, at least voting places shouldn’t be overcrowded. Should help keeping COVID spread down, which was the intention of early voting, right??

MODERATOR’S NOTE

It only took 6 posts for a ToS violation. Not quite the record. Please allow me to keep this thread open by adhering to forum rules.

I already voted, so don’t need to do that. I started my news diet today (meaning no news), and will continue throughout the day tomorrow. I’ll start watching election coverage as the results come in, but I don’t think we’ll have definitive results for days.

I hope I can get to sleep at a reasonable hour.

Already voted. Will try to stay away from media of any kind tomorrow.

I have my annual physical in the morning. I will work out after that, bake an apple pie, and take a walk.

I’m working until around 6. (I already voted). Then I plan to sit in front of the living room TV with my family watching the news , sip wine, and text with my closest friends until around midnight. Then I’m going to bed. I will have a social media blackout on Wednesday. I do hope we have a definitive result tomorrow night. I won’t we surprised if we don’t.

Already voted and spending 11am-5pm tomorrow manning a national voter protection hotline. It’s a partisan operation but the information is provided without regard to the political persuasion of the caller. We do not ask, nor do we offer our position. I suspect I will then be glued to election results even though I don’t expect a result tomorrow night.

I will be working at our local polling place for a half shift.

Then I’m coming home and making corn chowder. I think I’ll watch a funny movie after dinner. Then go to bed. I figure I’ll be tired as I have to get up at 4 a.m.

I’m not sure we will know anything by a reasonable hour Tuesday night. I am very interested in local propositions. I’m hoping that the large amount of mail - in and early voting results will be counted early and released immediately as polls close. Out West we always have the problem that east coast closes 3 hrs ahead and starts releasing results before we even finish voting! But this year we had a chance to vote early

Already voted.

I’m working all day (WFH), but I will start out with my regular Tuesday morning sunrise yoga (at 6:30), followed by a walk in my neighborhood. I will TRY to not check news during the day, not sure how successful I will be so I’m hoping work is busy. I expect to check in on my meditation app at least once. Just breathe.

H and I have already agreed to not watch news shows tomorrow night. We are looking for a movie to watch instead. I don’t usually drink during the week, but a glass or 2 of wine will likely be involved.

I already voted so I won’t be going to the polls. I do permanent absentee but used to love going to vote in person. I’m planning on going to my outside exercise class in the morning and going about my normal Tuesday routine.
I will watch the news in the evening. I’ll drive my H crazy as he can’t watch all night. I’m interested in several state propositions.
I will be watching the news for several days and hope that things remain calm.

I am still WFH so I plan to walk with hubby to vote. I have not asked any one who they plan to vote for. Then will do some work, exercise, roast a chicken for dinner.

My husband has both the election and prep for a colonoscopy coming up. Tomorrow is last day before the procedure he’s allowed to drink, so we may be drinking A LOT ( for us) tomorrow night.

70% of 2016 votes have been cast. Don’t be surprised if the votes cast are much more than the 2016 total. I’ve heard estimates of 160 million Almost 100 million cast already.

I’ve voted. I’ll exercise, pick up a grocery order from Walmart. I have a pot roast planned for dinner I will watch the results and
plan on eating carbs.

My H and I have already voted. I will work from home tomorrow as usual – and try to ignore any news. We’ll make dinner and eat outside on the patio. I intend to take my dog for a meditative walk around the neighborhood. Then, we will probably settle in for the night at home. We plan to watch a couple of “The Mindy Project” episodes and then will turn on election coverage. I really don’t want to inundate our day and evening with it. I’m sure it’s going to keep us all riveted long enough. I want to get what I need to do done tomorrow, have dinner, meditate, and laugh a little with my family before we turn our attention to the election.
