Howard EA Class of 2024

@kbdeuce1 Check your spam/junk folder in your email account (or search for Howard e-mail in all of your email folders). The portal information/financial aid information went there for the Howard applicants who received an acceptance that I have talked to on this thread and in my community. If you still can not find it, reach out to Financial Aid office and let us know how it turns out.

Attention Parents of Admitted Applicants: If you signed up for the bison parent email list, there is an email in the spam folder about financial aid. It’s coming from the email bisonfamily@howard.edu

@havingfunyet what did it say? I hadn’t signed up yet .

@Flutistmama It’s the same messaging as the FA 101 email that they sent to the students that landed in spam.

Attention Admitted Students: I was poking around the HU website and found this about conditions around the Freshman scholarships. https://www2.howard.edu/sites/default/files/FRESHMAN_SCHOLARSHIP_FREQUENTLY_ASKED_QUESTIONS%28FAQs%29.pdf

Hello. I was wondering if I was the only who hasn’t received information about how to log in to their Bison Web.

Sorry, I mean their Bison Portal

@Cluelessssss I am basically coping the answer I gave on post 140… Check your spam/junk folder in your email account (or search for Howard e-mail in all of your email folders). The portal information/financial aid information went there for the Howard applicants who received an acceptance that I have talked to on this thread and in my community. If you still can not find it, reach out to Financial Aid office and let us know how it turns out.

What were his stats??

Any word on Admitted Students Day or an estimate…

@havingfunyet I’ve been wondering the same thing. I was just searching the Howard website for info. I’m assuming they will have Accepted Student Day sometime after regular decisions are released, however according to Howard’s website regular decisions will be released on April 10th which seems pretty late.

I haven’t seen anything yet about ASD 2020, but it has been the 3rd Friday in April the last few years. I am sure we will see an announcement soon on social media or through Howard’s website.

What is everyone been seeing from a merit award (no need) only perspective from the capstone award? My son only got 11k but trying to see what the ranges are out there. Someone in financial aid says the Capstone Merit tops out at $12,800 but not sure if that is true.

forgot to add, he had a 1380 SAT and a 3.39 UW

Hey @Dmoneydad, 2 years ago, Howard’s initial offer to my daughter was 12.8K for Capstone Merit along with 14.5K for Capstone Need before she was selected for her competitive scholarship. The Capstone Merit used to be much larger, (niece received about 30K in Capstone Merit 3 years ago), but I haven’t heard of anyone getting those larger merit amounts since they broke the Capstone up between merit and need starting with my daughter’s class (2022).

Hi @Dmoneydad. My daughter also received the capstone with 11k (SAT 1370 gpa 3.7 UW). Now applying for scholarships to close the gap. In the meantime, anyone paid the enrollment fee yet (have to pay it before accepting the scholarship)? If so, where do I go to pay it? I dont see anything in the financial aid into about that. What am I missing?

I did find this helpful link for paying the enrollment fee, although it is for graduate admissions:
https://gs.howard.edu/admissions/new-student-registration-checklist
I did not see the equivalent for undergraduates. Still the instructions appear to “Instructions for Paying the Enrollment Fee Online” work.

@DaddyNeedsANap I went to that epay site and in the drop down, there should be an option for enrollment fee and it populates at $300. I also paid the $50 housing deposit even though we haven’t seen any information on it just to be safe.

We haven’t, however, been able to “accept” any scholarship award in the Bisonweb portal.

@DaddyNeedsANap Your daughter should have received an e-mail from Howard’s Office of Financial Aid (my son received the e-mail on 1/15/20). The e-mail has a link provided for Bison e-pay that is right after the section talking about Paying your enrollment fee and Accepting your offer of Admission. You will need the Bison ID # and Pin to log in and you can pay your enrollment fee there . Once you pay the enrollment fee you should be able to accept the financial aid terms and conditions in the Bison Web portal.

I have been told that the Accepted Students Day is April 17th this year. The response came from a question I asked on the HU24_connect Instagram page as well as receiving an email response I received from the Office of Admissions.
