How's UCSB's CCS computer science program for a transfer student?

I’m filling out my UC applications now and I’m unsure whether to apply to UCSB’s regular L&S computer science major or the CCS computer science major. From what I understand the real appeal of CCS is in the first two years of study but of course those don’t apply to me. Is there a compelling reason to choose CCS over L&S?

What you may want to do is go to the UCSB web site and compare the curricula for each version to see what the difference is, keeping the CC course articulation listings on ASSIST in mind. Check whether different numbers of quarters would be needed for one versus the other, or whether one versus the other would include a course selection that you prefer.

Thanks for the advice. The CCS computer science web page says that its upper division requirements are the same as those for CS in the engineering department, so I guess it really doesn’t matter which I apply to.

there is no computer science major in the college of letters and science…
