did anyone who pre-ordered from amazon get their books? this is ridiculous, it says the book is still at the warehouse. i’m going crazy

Are you sure? Mine says that it is in transit. When did you pre-order?

oh my book says it’s in transit actually. but i called UPS and apparently the books are coming by regular mail…around 3 p.m. :-(

Well, you had a choice: stand in line at a bookstore to get a copy after midnight, or sleep late and wait for the mail. I think you chose wisely. :-)

I ordered one copy in January and one copy in June. Both are scheduled for delivery today by UPS and are in our local UPS facility ready for UPS pick up.

I really trust Amazon. My brother ordered a Wii from Amazon/Target last November. Target backed out of the deal as they didn’t have enough Wii to fill the orders. The orders were all cancelled. Then, Amazon asked all of the people with cancelled orders if they still wanted a Wii. We did. Amazon sent us a Wii within 3 days along with a $100 gift certificate for our inconvenience.

I am sure Amazon will be super-apologetic if the books don’t get delivered today. Worst case, go hit the bookstore later today.

Amazon doesn’t guarantee arrival today if you chose Super Saver shipping, although it looks like mine might arrive today anyway. They guaranteed delivery for everyone who paid for standard shipping or better.

yeah i paid for standard shipping so hopefully it’ll be here any minute now.

So it might not come by twelve? What? How do you know which shipping you picked? I tracked mine and it said it left at 4 AM YESTERDAY morning from the town adjacent to mine. So it should totally be here by now? If UPS has it, will it come by brown truck or by mail? I’m so confused! I was at Borders yesterday night at 12 AM anyway, I should have totally gotten my book then.

^ no it might not come by 12. it’ll come when your normal mail comes. and you got standard shipping if you don’t know what kind of shipping you got. it’ll come by a brown truck i think. lol yeah you definitely should have gotten it at borders.

oh man, mine hasn’t come yet, either…

I hope it arrives soon, I’m getting antsy and the news keeps running these stories about kids who got their books last night and are already finished!

i know this is ridiculous, this has never happened before when i ordered from amazon.

Mine came around 10:45 this morning. Amazon has guaranteed delivery by 7:00 pm. I really didn’t expect mine until later, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Hopefully your wait will not be much longer!

I should be getting it any time now. I already read the leaked book online, but I still want to reread it on paper.

Just knowing that people have already finished the book is what makes me all anxious
But we’ve already waited long enough for the last book, a few (okay, possibly “several”) hours won’t make a difference…right? Yeah I don’t know about that haha

^ haha no it still makes a huge difference. i have my laptop right now and am camped in front of the door. every second is killing me. lol

when you got your book did it come in the brown ups truck?

i just got mine!!!

good thing i saw the truck pulling up because they didn’t even ring the doorbell…they just put on the front porch and left…

whatever.

i’m ABOUT TO START THE LAST BOOK!!!

omg you’re so lucky.

USPS= United States Postal Service – the post office. Those deliveries come with your mail unless you have Express Mail.

UPS = United Parcel Service – “Brown” (as in the trucks and uniforms) Those arrive when the truck is scheduled for your neighborhood. It could be 9 am. It could be 5 pm.

UPS only makes special deliveries on Saturdays, I think, so my guess is that Amazon sent most via the US post office.

^ yes i called my post office and they said that the harry potter books were delivered to them.

mine arrived from UPS…the brown truck

and as you can tell, i am currently not reading. my mom wanted to read the last chapter (to find out if harry lives or dies)… so i’m letting her do it to get her to stop bugging me
