<p>At first glance, ok Exeter is #1…but there are many many omissions as far as I can tell. No Choate? No Andover?? Why is California so over represented?</p>
<p>Anyone have any insight into this list?</p>
<p>All lists are arbitrary. This one used some very specific criteria. You could have a list that rated according to “how many brick buildings” or “how many different color binders for sale in the bookstore” and come up with a diffferent result each time. These are all good schools, as are many not on the list. Try not to pay it any mind…</p>
<p>A look at the methodology of the list upon which that article was based gives mention of why Andover is not on the list.</p>

<p>Choate is on the list, but not in the top 25. The sense I get of the article is that it is more link spam than actually a meaningful, helpful resource.</p>

<p>But I agree with booklady. The list is not incredibly helpful, on a number levels, not the least for being so overly broad.</p>
<p>It’s really easy to get caught up in this kind of info when you begin looking. My advice is to ignore all the ranking lists, do your own research, and focus on finding the schools that seem like the best fit for your kid. We were SO impressed by some schools that we’d never heard of before, once we really started looking. There are a lot of wonderful schools out there that you won’t see at the top of any of those ranking lists. Don’t forget to cast a wide net, because M10 results are often a surprise.</p>

<p>Some day schools are less well-known than others but all great schools. Strongly agree with Cameo43. </p>
<p>And everyone knows Choate is a second-rate school, no surprise there.
