I am in shock-orlando terror attack

This s a horrible, sickening tragedy.currently 50 dead, 53 wounded. Condolences to the families.

“We have a big problem in this country and its not Islamic terrorism.” ok as the LGBTQ community mourns the attack and recovers from the shock they will find comfort in your agenda/denial. I can not believe the only thing you take from this is horrible situation is the need to spin a tragedy.

With 50 dead and 53 wounded, I have to wonder how many were a result of the police storming the club? Has anyone heard any explanation of that?

You really think that American citizens who get radicalized by Islamic extremists (like the Tsarnaev brothers) and deliberately target crowded soft targets is the same flavor as a guy who is mad at his ex-girlfriend/professor/boss?

Are you sure about the 50 dead number? I have only seen reports of 20 dead.

Yes, let’s blame this on the police!

I took that to mean that the bigger problem is incredibly easy access to not only guns, but guns capable of killing many people very quickly.

It was just reported in the press conference.

Knowing the details of how this tragedy occurred is not blaming the police. Get a grip, Tom.

yes it is now 50…

Just wait. Sadly it will become an ever greater problem…

@zobroward with all due respect, please don’t throw in straw man arguments to take this thread off topic. What happened in Orlando is horrific, and to try to redirect this discussion elsewhere seems painfully insensitive.

Tsarnaev brothers weren’t mass shooters ( and yes, I think that makes it different.)

I see this latest shooting as no different then the kid in Charleston who walked in the church and murdered.

“Yes, let’s blame this on the police!”

Yes, let’s not even consider that the police who put their own lives on the line rushing into a building which appears to have contained a bomb, likely saved lives. Geez.

jym626, with all do respect?? I am in shock…I know many people in the LGBTQ community and some who spend time in the orlando area,. I am responding to the post I read. I am in shock over what happened! and i do not understand why the topic was being veered off in that direction. ask emilybee to stay on subject…just like I have.

With all due respect@zobroward your thread title used “terror attack” and not ‘mass shooting’ which suggested to me you believe it is something different.

I am completely devastated. The death toll is up to 50. The worst mass killing in the U.S. since 9/11. I can’t stop thinking about my son and imagining him in that situation. And I blame homophobic rhetoric of all kinds, from all sources, to which this killer may have been exposed. I’m not going to point fingers at any particular religion.

Yes, I’m glad he’s dead. But that’s cold comfort.

This was just reported to be the worst mass shooting in the history of the US.

Nevertheless, he had ties to Islamic extremism… aka radical Islamic terrorism.

Why can’t people just call it what it is?

50 dead and 53 injured - confirmed by Orlando mayor.

My BIL is an ER doc in Orlando. I hope he can help people and I hope this doesn’t scar him and his family too much.

I’m just so angry and upset. Forgive me mods for saying to Hell with Radical anything, to Hell with Violence, and to the depths of HELL for all automatic weapons!
