If hate is preached, we are going to get hate.
Many religions share the same hatred.
If hate is preached, we are going to get hate.
Many religions share the same hatred.
That’s exactly why I said what I did.
yes emily bee that was taken from the original headline from when I woke up and read it. sorry I did not know I had to to filter it to fit what you want to be said. take it up with news organization…I will check with you first before typing. I can not believe that is what you are fixated on! these peoples only crime is being LGBT and enjoying themselves and you are off on another agenda.

The gunman’s father quoted:
What does Q stand for in LBGTQ?
Speaking of many religions sharing the same hatred:

Disgusting.
Q-questioning
It is as much about religion brainwashing as it is about access to guns and mental illness. Every mass shooting has all three elements. An average religious nutcase or homophobe doesn’t go out and commit mass shootings, it’s always a person who is also mentally disturbed, has been brain washed and has access to weapons. It’s a dangerous combination.
I thought it was “queer”?
(Not as a slur, but as a reclaiming sort of thing.)
No. 99.9% of the time, the “Q” means queer – sort of a reclaimed epithet used as an umbrella term by many younger LGBT people.
This is horrible indeed. The real problem is copycat terrorism by haters (they are everywhere) facilitated by social media. Not sure how to stop that. Gun control is battling the symptom–France and all of Europe have strict gun laws but that didn’t stop the terrorist attacks there.
There was a meme going around on facebook not long ago that bears repeating: “If your religion requires you to hate someone, you need a new religion”.
Horrible. So sorry for all of the victims and their friends and family and the community.
Ultimately we need to wait until an investigation is complete. Bits and pieces filter out into the media (sometimes wrong) moving public opinion into different directions. Then unfortunately people with different agendas latch onto that info for their own purposes. Takes time to conduct an investigation.
The cops stormed the place according to news reports because the perp had gone back into the club and taken hostages, and they also had fears he had explosives. They didn’t just rush in shooting, they set off diversionary explosives to try and distract the shooter before going in,this was professional. This wasn’t buford t justice, given what is in Orlando this is well trained professionals.
As far as this being terrorism, depends on motive.Given the shooters background, and the attitude of islam towards LGBT people, and the guys background,it certainly cannot be ruled out.The difference between terrorism and a hate crime is generally intent,a hate crime from what I can tell is done because someone hates someone for who they are and acts,it becomes terrorism when it was affected by outside things like if this was planned as part of a broader effort. The guy who blew up the 96 olympics and also bombed gay bars and abortion clinics was a lone wolf and thus those were hate crimes. Some one on the other hand who was let say part of a group that advocated killing those violated gods law would be terrorists.
CNN is reporting 50 dead,53 wounded, and more likely will die.The weapon was an ar 15,likely with a large magazine according to an ex atf guy on cnn.
The scary part about this if he is a lone wolf there woukd be little way to track this.Doesn’t really matter much,it shows how vulnerable we are.
I’m afraid to ask but are some of the deaths from being crushed on the way out?
Horrific but not surprising. Anyone surprised by this hasn’t been paying attention. We’re still not a country friendly to queer people. Winning the right to marry doesn’t mean all is well- as evidenced by both violence and the repeated attacks on our rights by legislators.
We’re all sick over this latest abhorrent act but I too, wonder if the police should have began their assault earlier. Obviously they need to take precautions to limit any harm to themselves, but risk of harm is inherent for police officers in the midst of such situations. I think back to the two Austin, Texas policemen (and a civilian) who risked their lives in 1966 to climb the clock tower at U of T to stop that madman from killing more people.
Unfortunately, a lot of these people have been brainwashed into saying, “Hate the sin, but love the sinner.” So it’s a way of covering up their hate, but in a cursory glance at pending legislation in many states, it’s obvious through action people hate the sinner, too.
on the question of Q
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2015/06/01/lgbtq-questioning-queer-meaning/26925563/
both queer and questioning depending on who uses it.

Well to me labeling something a “terror attack” connotes a specific agenda perpetrated by specific persons.
I believe this is a mass shooting and a hate crime.
