I cannot believe Bill Cosby flew under the radar for so long

Still more women are speaking out about being drugged.

These women going public now have nothing to gain from false accusations. The denials are becoming more and more preposterous.

I think there is always a reluctance with certain public figures to accept the fact that they have done bad things. Wasn’t there some guy who was a long time figure at the BBC, was some sort of beloved comedian or some such, who turned out to be a child molestor?

Bill Cosby had this aura of likability, his comedy was kind of gentle, especially compared to the more ascerbic or outrageous comedy coming out there, people like Lenny Bruce or Richard Pryor, he was one of the first black stars of a tv series (I Spy), his whole image was that of the nice guy, the guy who stressed family and being responsible and education and so forth (I think he had a Phd in education), and of course, with the Cosby show, presented this image of the ultimate family guy. It doesn’t mean there were things out there about him, there were people all along who said he was difficult to work with, could be nasty, and so forth, but between not wanting to soil the image of someone who was well liked by a wide variety of people or who seemed to be a role model, and of course that he was bankable, people looked to other way or didn’t dig too deep.

And more women are coming forward.
