Did y’all see The View today? It kind of hit the fan today with Rosie O, who very much believes these women. Everyone else was more guarded.

Serial drugging and raping is not philandering.

Right but he obviously never admitted drugging and rape to his wife. He publicly stated at some point that she was aware that he cheated with other women. I doubt she was aware of the whole truth. Until now of course.

I’ve learned to separate the act from the actor. Bill Cosby was a great comedian. That was his act and he was as good as it gets. (To be clear, I don’t think he’s very good now; his material and delivery are very inconsistent.)

It’s tough to figure. Look at Jimmy Savile in the UK. After his death, it came out he was a massive child abuser, with hundreds of victims. I can’t accept that and still look at his face: child abuse is over that line. But look at Ben Roethlisberger: twice publicly accused of drinking and then raping women - with the connivance of the police watching out for him - plus at least one other accusation that never went to the prosecutors. People wear his jersey and talk about how great he is for the Steelers. I can’t root for Rapelisberger but I have to accept people do. I can see there’s a different line between children and adults. But it gets difficult.

I don’t know, I’m not so sure about her. I was listening to a news channel today in the car and they reported that Janice D had made these allegations and that Cosby’s lawyer had responded that she was lying. They said “CBS news reached out to Ms. Dickinson, but her representative said she would not comment without being paid.”

There clearly is a whole lot of smoke here. Hard to believe there is no fire.

Years ago I read her book and she alluded to it then but glossed over the details. Of course, she is enjoying her current 15 minutes That’s just who she is, for better or worse. No-one would have believed her at the time. He seems to have targeted women who wouldn’t have much credibility. Why he didn’t just philander like everyone else I don’t know.

Whether this is true or not, there has to be proof. I am horrified that these women are coming out on national tv with no proof, no real memory–I watched on such interview. What defense does ANYONE have is someone from one’s past comes out with such allegations? And if they are untrue, what can you do? I could not believe that national tv provided such a forum for the one I watched.

These sorts of allegations have been swirling around Cosby for years. It’s not like these women just appeared out of no where. And they did interview a prosecutor who said one of the women did come to him with the allegation at the time it happened to her. He was on CNN I think trying to justify why he did not prosecute the case.

When you look at just the sheer number of women who are coming forward with similar circumstances of rape utilizing drugs put in their drinks, it’s hard to chalk it up to anything else but the truth. These women do not know each other and have nothing to gain at this point in coming forward. The statue of limitations has run on their claims so they really only have their own satisfaction that this guy is held accountable.

I watched the Barbara Bowman interview and she is very credible. Personally, I believe each and every one of them. It is a shame that Bill Cosby will end his career in this manner, but hey, you reap what you sow.

If the allegations are true, it’s a shame he wasn’t put in prison where he belonged twenty years ago.

If the allegations are true, one has to think there are some more recent victims. Surely a serial rapist via drugging would not have stopped doing what had always worked. The statute of limitations would not be over for those cases.

It will be interesting to see if someone comes forward who could present a good case. I don’t think he is out of the woods yet on an actionable case.

I didn’t rape any of my accusers!!

Oh, wait. I changed my mind. I didn’t rape any of those accusers, except that one woman who accused me of rape and who I bought off. I’m not saying if I raped her. But all the other women who said I raped them in just the same way are lying.

Not a very persuasive defense, to me.

This guy is living in the past and still believes he is calling the shots. The video released today was shot 3 weeks ago. He tries to make the questions a problem for the interviewer. I perceive he is trying to make the reporter believe there will be consequences if he shows that particular segment of the interview. Subtle but it is there.

The wife has that “deer in headlights” look and just keeps smiling.

<a href=“Why Bill Cosby's Interview With the AP Was Released - ABC News”>http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/bill-cosby-wanted-comment-sex-allegations-scuttled/story?id=27047911

Because it wasn’t just about sex.

If it was about sex, he could have hired prostitutes. It’s about violence and power.

Classic case of an individual who has repeatedly tried to enforce his moral compass on the public who turns out to me more immoral than those he is lecturing. I’m referring to his scolding of black celebrities for using the N word or comedians who curse in their act. Reminiscent of priests who molested young boys while imparting their moral judgment on others.

Exactly…I suspect in this case it was also about image. If he had sex with willing starlets or prostitutes, they may have tipped off the papparazzi or videotaped their encounters and the publicity would have killed The Cosby Show. Roofie a young woman and rape her and there aren’t going to be papparazzi there or a videotape and the young women won’t be believed.

That’s assuming, of course, that he’s guilty.

“I perceive he is trying to make the reporter believe there will be consequences if he shows that particular segment of the interview. Subtle but it is there.”

I didn’t think it was subtle. I thought he was threatening the reporter’s future career if he let that interview air.
Here’s the full interview.

Wow. He sees himself as all-powerful.

I have seen only short clips of some of the women, but the pattern seems to be that they were very young and vulnerable. Predators usually know how to target victims who won’t tell. I completely understand why most of these women kept quiet at the time.

I’ve been hoping not to have to believe this about Cosby but, for me, it’s impossible to believe that all of these women are lying. One or two? Very possibly. This many? No.

It’s all very disappointing. Hard to believe it’s not true with the amount of women coming out.

I heard one women’s Mom told for her daughter to go along with what Crosby wanted. She would get far due his power. I can’t believe she would tell her daughter to do this. Yuck!

I guess if this women did say something, I bet it would have been covered up by Crosby’s publicist.

Some of these women took a payoff and kept quiet for thirty years. Now, it’s all unraveling and it always involves pills. Ick.
