I cannot believe Bill Cosby flew under the radar for so long

Lots of Hollywood men have taken advantage of women. Susan Sarandan tells of one saying ‘perform oral sex on me and you have the part’. She declined and did not get the part. Giving drugs does add a terrible dimension to the story.

Roofies aren’t pills.

Janice Dickinson and the Florida women definitely said pills that made them groggy preceded the sexual assaults.

<a href=“Number of Bill Cosby accusers grows again - CBS News”>http://www.cbsnews.com/news/number-of-bill-cosby-accusers-grows-again/

You’re right, marie. Sorry.

I thought “roofie” was short for Rohypnol a sedative that is in pill form. Am I incorrect?

A lot of times rohypnol is dissolved in someone’s drink.

I loved Cosby, hadn’t heard these rumors til just now, and I dislike trial-by-media.

I also dislike trial by media and I think that’s why the women on The View tend to hold back initially. That said, I’m saddened by this and my mind doesn’t want to believe it because I bought the “wholesome” image of him lock, stock, and barrel and in my head I just don’t want it to be true. I think it probably is though…at least to some degree.

I never liked Cosby and I can’t imagine that it isn’t true. Playing a dad on tv doesn’t make an actor any more innocent or wholesome than once having played a kid on tv.

I guess neither does playing a pastor!

I feel terrible for his wife.

I just read that he got a standing ovation at an appearance in Florida last night. And people wonder why victims of sexual assault don’t come forward. This audience assumes that they’re the guilty parties.

I feel terrible for the victims–the did not deserve the treatment they received. I’m sure it’s tough on his wife, but have no idea what she knew or should have known in their decades of marriage. I have no idea what kind of person he was to people who were close to him either. I find it hard to believe that he was only awful in these few instances but otherwise was just fine–doesn’t seem true to character of folks I’ve known. When they’re cruel in one area, there tends to be “bleedover.”

Yes, it goes without saying that we all feel terrible for the victims and how some/many didn’t feel that they could voice what happened to them.

I feel for his wife because when you’ve been married for a VERY long time to someone and to then find out they’re a criminal has got to be absolutely gut-wrenching.

I really think the Florida audience is a small subset of supporters. Every criminal of every kind has true believers. Most people seem to believe the accusers and all of his recent projects but for a few random appearances have been ended. I also wonder what his wife and what his entire entourage knew and when they all knew it. I do believe it had to be more than nothing.

^^
for all we know, the Cosby people may have loaded the audience with supporters.

“Cosby accusers suffering from shared delusions, study says” … seems about right http://dandygoat.com/cosby-accusers-suffering-from-shared-delusions-study-says

I always wondered why Lisa Bonet was always absent from reunion shows, and Cosby family appearances. I believe she left the show before it ended. It occurred to me this week that she may have some knowledge of his criminal deeds and wanted no parts of him.

“I feel for his wife because when you’ve been married for a VERY long time to someone and to then find out they’re a criminal has got to be absolutely gut-wrenching.”

There have been rumors for years. The wife knew long ago and decided to stay with him.

Just an FYI for those not familiar with it… the Dandy Goat story linked to in #96 is satire, like the Onion.
