I can't believe I'm sitting here watching the NFL draft!

Is anyone else tired of this Johnny Football centric coverage? It seems disrespectful of all the great players who have been chosen. Funny that his WR and OT were already taken high.

I can beat that. I was out at a meeting tonight and as soon as it was over, I ran out to my car to turn on the Milwaukee AM station that’s covering the draft! I was thrilled to hear that Johnny Football had not only not been taken, but two of his teammates have gone before him, as well as another QB.

That and both Texas teams passed on him

Eagles - they have Nick Foles who is young but Kelly does like scrambling option QBs

We have season tickets to the U of SC games and tuned in to watch Clowney get picked. I’m embarrassed to say, we still have it on!

Gruden is going to ride this Manziel thing all night. Well the Packers got Ha Ha! :))

Finally we can all rest

So many potential jokes with that one. How long will it take before they start?

In other news, H’s response to Manziel’s pick after I said it was too bad he went in the first round: “That’s OK; he’s going to Cleveland; that’s where QBs go to die.”

“God had a plan for me” and it was . . . The Browns?

I haven’t watched but about 15 minutes on TV now since I got home, but that’s exactly what H said.

“It’s been proven that hand size is important.” Gawwwwd

The NFL is the only organization in the world that can get people to watch commercials to sit through a three-hour HR meeting.

I know . . . right? And I’m doing it.

All those ads and my team didn’t even pick ~X(

I don’t mean to be too critical but it almost seems that this year, the first round is almost like a second round. Even number one pick came with fairly sizeable questions and caveats.

I think Clowney will be great - I agree with the assessment that he was protecting his investment to a degree so as no to be injured. It seems unsporting to a degree, but at the same time if that’s your ticket to the #1 pick and enough money to support your family I have trouble judging too harshly.

Sam is projected to go late - his combine wasn’t great

Sam is “undersized” for a defensive end, but doesn’t have the skills working backwards to be a linebacker (some prognosticators had talked pre-combine about teams trying to convert him). He is a “tweener” and seen as a not every down guy which reduces his stock. I can think of a team in a lineral city that likes high-motor part-time pass rushers AND late round picks. ;

Watching the draft is a tradition in our family. Even thought I’m on vacation in the Adirondack Mountains I had it on last night and on the phone watching it “with” my father. He hung up in order to pay more attention to the tv when Buffalo made their trade, and my daughter immediately called and “watched” it with me from Alaska until after the Packers made their pick, except a brief time when my dad checked in again. Only time I’ve had the tv on all week.

Manziel is fantastic and will change the Brown’s program. I am glad the Brown’s got him. He is the right fit for that team and will have a chance to start.

Sams is too small and not really NFL level material.
