Goodbye any dreams of Georgia Tech :'(

Cheer up. You can recover.

What class was it for?

It was Spanish…ridiculous test, not even fair. Now, Spanish, which I usually get an A-/A final grade, I’m probably looking at a B+. Really uber ****ed. Plus AP Chem I have B/B/B midterm, math is looking like a final grade of an A-/A, english is B+/B-/C+ as usual, history looking like a B+ final. Just really depressing that I go to such a rigorous school. I really regret going here now - if I had a 3.7/3.8 in public school, I’d get into GT.

Failure is human, don’t worry

Do they really look at midterms?

No, but they look at final grades, and mine got lowered 2/3 of a letter grade because of this stupid test.

See if you can’t push that grade to an A. I would try to avoid a C in English if possible…

But let’s say you get three Bs. It’s not the end of the world. And from your class rank, they’ll see that you go a tough school.

Just do your best and don’t give up.

If your transcript only shows final grades, you don’t have that much to worry about…

My brother got into GT with a 3.5 GPA and his friend got in with a 3.2. You should be safe. Then again, we live in state, so I don’t know. You should be fine with a 3.7-3.8 though. My GPA is really crappy, sitting at a 3.5 weighted, though I should get in. Just make sure you get at least a 700 on the math section of your SAT.

In college the finals are worth nearly 25-50% of your grade. Be glad you only got dropped a few percentage points. Learn to study for midterms/finals now or else you are screwed.

25% is a very lightly weighted final. I’ve been looking at mostly 50% and up to 80% depending on how you do on the midterms.

^ Most of my language classes are around 40%. Sorry, I meant language classes lol.

Yes- finals are weighted much more heavily in many math/science classes (luckily, I take none :D)
