I filled my counselor report

I am an international student from a small town in India. My school does not have a counselor so I was told to upload the files on their behalf by creating a new account. I did not lie and uploaded all the correct and attested transcripts and recommendation . I also talked to my principal before filling in the forms. I have been admitted to a college. Will I be in trouble if I am found out?

If the college itself instructed you to do this, there is no problem.

The big question is WHO told you to upload the files. Doesn’t sound legit if you are worried about it and you had to create a new account to do so. Couldn’t your principle have taken the place of a counselor and have done the uploading.

You may very well be in trouble if found out.

Ask your principle to contact the school and vouch for the validity of the uploaded files.

I walked my principal through the process. As he didn’t have an account, I had to create a new one for him. The school uploaded the files ( I mean my principal). The only thing is that I was present during the whole process. I just created the account. Rest of the things were done by the school. I just scanned the documents and showed him how to do it. My principal was my counselor. All the transcripts were verified by the school before uploading. But my principal is retiring in a few months. I am worried that if the college calls after that, he will not be there to verify the information and the college will think that I lied.

It sounds to me that this could be interpreted as your principle filed the counselor report, but he needed your help to do it. It sounds like he was there the entire time and that at the time he verified that you and he working together sent the correct valid documents.

I don’t think that there is a problem here.

Thanks a lot

I don’t think that you have problems, but you can made a letter to the new principal tell him about your application process, including the information to access to the account, with copies of the documents and ask to the principal to sign it before he leaves.

So what are the chances that the college will actually call my school?

Folow International Dad’s advice. Make sure that the new principal (and possibly another authority at the school) know how the retiring principal handled this. That way they will know what to do for the next student in your situation. If the college would call (I can’t imagine why), the new principal will be able to tell them that the former principal served as your counselor.
