I hate my legs-need coverage for my son's wedding!

I second Dermablend leg coverage make up. Fabulous.

It was me but I was keeping my mouth shut as I was subsequently made fun of for it :-). But since you asked … Donna Karan or similar brand, find at Nordstrom or similar store. Gives you some coverage but is still light and airy. And doesn’t read as hooker fishnet, because you know I wouldn’t dress like a hooker

It was Pizzagirl! I was pitching Wolford nudes.

That said… A maxi dress without sleeves is too cold? Add a Nordstrom tissue weight cashmere wrap!

What about a jumpsuit? They are still quite popular! Here is the one I got for NYE and have worn it to several occasions:

Tea length/midi dresses can look fabulous. I recommend checking ModCloth for some examples.

Bb, is that used or new on eBay. Sorry I never purchased anything on eBay. But I saw something similar on Neiman Marcus as I was googling today.

I’ve never worn nude fishnets but like the concept. But don’t you feel that would be a big leap for someone self-conscious about her legs? In my totally un-informed mind, they seem like a good choice for someone with great legs seeking a little coverage. They are unusual enough that it seems like they would draw attention to the legs.

I like the maxi dress, especially for some body like me. I can hide my 10 inch heels or whatever the talk shoes are nowadays. I think my potential SIL would be tall so I need to add a bit of advantage(in height). Just kidding, it’s not even a boy friend yet. Just a guy with a cute smile, but at least there is a target.

nottelling, take a look at these:

Have them in sand color (got them from UK Tights).

If fushnet is a bit too much of a fashion leap, there are tulle (micronet) tights:

They come in flesh colors, too.

Not telling - you’re thinking of black fishnets, which do draw attention! The nude really blends in. It reads as super-sheer pantyhose. No one taking a picture, for example, would see it as fishnet. Don’t think a big weave, think a small one.

Having said that, bare legs are so common these days for dressy events that honestly, a little moisturizer and you’re fine. Most other people are nowhere near as fixated on our “flaws” as we are. I never liked to wear dresses since I have muscular calves but I’ve now said the heck with it, that is how I’m built, that’s what I do! Same thing for sleeveless as I have big arms and develop muscle easily. You have to accept your body for what it is!

Wear what you feel most comfortable in. If it’s slacks and a nice top, do that. If you prefer a dress, try a maxi dress. If you really like the dress you have, then wear hose with it, and forget about your legs. Nobody else will pay attention to them.

Want to reiterate several points that have been mentioned here and in other forums that have been particularly useful to me. UK tights is a great site - quick easy delivery with minimal charge. Dermablend is a fantastic option. Can try in a store like Ulta where you can sample every color for best match. In combination with setting powder, a very reasonable option for anyone who is self-conscious about their legs.

Oh, yes.

I have a 10-inch surgical scar on my lower left leg, as a result of an accident nine years ago, and I customarily wear pants to hide it.

But a couple of years ago, I really needed to wear a knee-length skirted suit to an important business event.

I got several comments from colleagues at the event about my outfit – all of them about how much they liked the jacket. I don’t think anyone even noticed my legs.

^^Snowball:

You mentioned finding a great top to wear with winter white pants. I’m not usually a big fan of Chico’s styles, but they have several tops in a flowy, poncho style. (Nordstrom has a few too)

Would they look good for the bridal luncheon or not fancy enough?

Here’s another just for example: Not sure what you’re looking for. Hard to find nice summer clothes in the stores. It’s all Fall now.

This is the one I saw at Nordstrom. Not sure if any of these you like or would be appropriate for your events. Not suure if you even like them yourself! But it’s probably easier finding a new top for your pants than it is to find a new outfit. Good luck!

I like the two tops, but notice how they are paired with slimmer pants in the photos? If the pants are flowy, the top has to be somewhat fitted, IMO, or the wearer will look like she is wearing a sack.
Kind of like this:

Just do the Wolford “Individual 10” thigh high stockings. They are much cooler in warmer weather and yes, they do stay up. Nordstrom sells them for $49.

I hate panty hose and avoid them at all costs. I am bare legged for most months of the year even in a dress. When I absolutely have to wear them I will go for the thigh highs. Less confining.

Agreed about the balance, BB.

That jumpsuit is gorgeous but too pricey for my modest budget!
I just bought this one for myself:

Nordstrom is carrying it as an “off the shoulder” style, but it’s not really meant to wear that way, imo. I tailored it slightly and have already worn it out! Very comfortable, but probably not fancy enough for wedding events.

Like your jumpsuit, chocchipcookie!

How about a midi skirt with some added charm?

Snowball! Come back! We need to hear from you! :)]

BB: I’ve seen those skirts & dresses all over. I think I must be too old fashioned because I really dislike seeing a shorter skirt through a longer one! It’s just me, though, because they seem to be quite popular, even as wedding dress styles! Not for me personally…(and I have boys so my fashion sense hasn’t been updated shopping with daughters!

@Alumother had a dress with that short / long combo for her wedding (posted on her blog) and it looked fabulous! I don’t know that I could pull it off but she looked great.
