I also do not shop Chicos, but my mother does. I like both of those tops and either would look great with my pants which are slim fit. My black pants are skinny fit and the winter white are slim fit. I am actually at the mall now, so may stop into Chico’s. I am small in the shoulders, so I have trouble with looser tops at times. Also need to make sure billowy sleeve don’t dip into my plate at meals.
@chocchipcookie - Personally I’m not a fan of the short/long style either. I’m fine with anything others are happy with themselves, but it is “not for me”.
I normally would not endorse a transparent skirt over a mini, but that Eileen Fisher is very classy (the inner skirt is knee-long), 100% silk, and does not look too transparent. I am very tempted to get one for myself, but I ran out of excuses to buy fancy outfits!
If you feel more confident in pants, then I recommend just going w pants paired w a “high impact” top.
I’m not a fan of the translucent long skirts over shorter opaque ones but the bride at the wedding I performed on Wednesday wore one. She looked sweet, but not for me or my loved ones.
I’m a bit self conscious about my legs–they have some bruises and healing cuts +I’m clumsy and bruise easily). After a brief battle with myself, I decided to wear a dress I love despite the fact that it shows my legs below my knees. My D and H both said to go for it instead of jeggings and a great top. I was one of the main speakers at an event for 175 people and got a lot of compliments on my outfit, to my surprise. I guess no one is as critical of our flaws as we are of own own faults.
I don’t think people look twice at bruises (unless of course they are extreme, as in - you were just in a car accident). People get bruises, they get cuts, they get mosquito bites, they have scars. Unless they are extremely off-putting, that’s how life goes.
^^^What HImom said. And what PG said!!! ^^^
I second a jumpsuit.
I had a gorgeous fushia jumpsuit long ago that looked much like the ones posted. My issue is that you need to nearly disrobe to use the restroom. I ended up never buying one again, although they look great.
Check out the Top Shop at Nordstroms. I found a great loose dressy jacket there that I wore with tight black pants for a dressy function. The prices in that area are really affordable and are different that what is available elsewhere.
D already knows that I will be in dressy pants for anything in the future, even her wedding. Just am not comfortable in dresses but admire those who are.
^^^I was thinking that! Jumpsuits seem like they might be hard to fit with torsos, legs, etc. being longer/shorter on everyone.
Yes, I don’t buy jumpsuits especially because they are so VERY inconvenient for “toileting.” To me that just makes them more hassle than they’re worth.
I feel like jumpsuits are great on the right body but almost nobody has the right body. If you look good in them you probably aren’t worried about your legs.
For small dings, dab a little concealer.
BB: I love that Eileen Fisher skirt. It could be dressed up or down.
Thanks @Pizzagirl :).
