As the title states, I received a nomination letter for NHS today as a sophomore. It says to submit addition information and included a sheet asking for involvement, positions, basically the usual. I was wondering exactly what the selection committee bases their decision off of - is it like a college looking for depth? Well-roundedness?

Also, just a general application question: Are you allowed to reference to recognition or prestigious awards from middle school in the essays? On the application form itself, it explicitly tells you to list only stuff from high school so I’ll do that, but I was wondering if I could reference middle school jobs and stuff in my essays, since I was more involved in some areas back then.

Thanks!
