I lost credit for gym...

I was absent too many times, due to an infection I got in India, but I have no doctors notes because they aren’t necessary for antibiotics in India, so credit wasn’t granted. I will have to redo the course in the spring or summer. How will this affect my college prospects? Will I still be able to get into good universities (top 35 or so) or is it impossible now? I still have a 100 as my grade, it’s just that I’ll get no credit for the class.

bump…

Are you a resident of the US or India (or somewhere else?)

In NY, you can’t get a high school diploma without that Phys Ed credit.

Having not completed it YET isn’t an issue, as long as you’ll eventually get credit.

But I admit to being confused. DId you miss classes in the US or in India? If it was here, you DID need a prescription for those antibiotics you were taking while missing classes here.

@bjkmom I live in the US but went to visit family in India over the summer. While there, I came down with a bacterial infection of sorts and was put on antibiotics- no prescription was necessary to obtain them- but because I don’t have a note, I’m unable to get credit for the class, which was lost due to being absent too many times. I’m not worried about being unable to get credit in general, because I can make the course up in spring or over the summer, outside of school. However, I am worried about how much universities will care about the fact that I lost credit for phys ed (and had to re-obtain it outside of school), and how it will look on my application, considering the fact that I am aiming to get into a university that’s in the top 35. Will it adversely affect my chances, and if so, how much?
