Yes, CC’ers really do exist, in real life!! Just as parent2noles met mootmom, DH, DS#2 and I had a delightful dinner with momofwildchild, her DH and the Wildchild himself last night (what a gorgeous guy WC is!-- you are in bigger trouble than I thought, mowc!
). We had a bit of a challenge yelling over the loud crowd and the bikers outside (there was some sort of bike event going in in N’ville-- we weren’t purposefully hanging out with biker dudes, I don’t think…). It was great fun to put a face to a “name”. The s’s were a bit non-plussed that we talk about them and their sibs, but… oh well. Maybe they’ll understand when they are parents. It was thoroughly enjoyable. So ok, who else has met a cc’er face-to-face (and knew about it at the time)??

That is soooo cool!

I met a ccer when I did an alum interview with him. I knew he was on CC, but he didn’t realize that I was.;)

S went to summer camp at U Wisconsin with someone whom I’d met on CC, and who knew S’s connection to me. I also met someone on CC who had gone to a CTY camp with S, and S reconnected with him as a result. Small world.

I have never met a CC’er! I feel deprived! But, I believe we have UNC, Duke group of CC posters talking about a Top of the Hill meeting in the fall, so it may yet happen. And jym…you know where I am…I expect a visit someday. :)

Well, I have met mootmom, mstee, sluggbugg, coureur and carolyn IRL. And knew it.
Oh and ctymomteacher and lsw~ as Tulane moms.

But I don’t think that holds a candle to meeting WildChild. Not even close
:D.

Yes, it was lots of fun, NSM. Were anyone’s ears burning last night?? We were talking about the cc crowd!

thats so auesome…i know cc members…i once went to sleepaway camp w/ one of the members…she was eponine in les mis the summer b4 while i was Ensemble member(so i was a barmate/slut/begger/extra) and my old username was: Fwflesmis05 or something like that and she was like u were in les mis at FWF i was 2 and we remembered eachother we rode horses together also…i read her resume to b4 i commented her and i tottally skipped over the part in her theatre section in which it said done at frenchwoods…and a grl i whose little brother and me went to school from 3-9th grade was on here we talked when we realized we lived in the same town…

It was a blast! This was my second CC meeting. I met a mom at Penn during move-in and we have remained close friends.
JYM has a darling younger son and I hope he has lots of good college choices.
WildChild calmly used his fake ID to order a Margarita! Only a few months until he is legal.

ldmom06-
But of course!! However, not sure when I am getting back to TX. If they hadn’t scheduled both s’s graduations on the same !@@#$#$$% morning next May, I’d be there for sure next spring, but I think I am handling the HS graduation and DH is handling the college graduation. However, there is always the chance s#2 could end up at UNC (and he even mentioned Duke in passing today as well so I have no idea where his head is with all this college stuff). At any rate-- maybe Ill be able to meet you with the UNC- Duke crowd in the fall!! Who knows!

And jmmom-- where’d you meet all the cc hall-of-famers??? That’s incredible!! Was that the luncheon in California last summer???

It was our “coffee klatch”, which was really a Halloween wine and whatever in 2005 for the NoCal set. And a lunch even before that in San Diego area with coureur and carolyn (and sandiegomom, I almost forgot - she doesn’t come around these parts so much anymore). And carolyn and I have gotten together another time or two.

Hey, I only get to the Left Coast every so often, so I’ve taken to making the most of it. :)

And how could I forget maineparent? She was my major IRL support group through the Katrina/transfer madness, along with the whole cc crew here on the boards. We’ve lunched a couple of times. She is the best.

Hahahaha Ooh my! :)

I know most of the current students who post on the UChicago board, but I’m not really sure that counts.

Yes! It was so smoothe! I realized he wasn’t quite of age, but we were pretty cool about it, if I do say so myself… (or was that shock… I dunno…
)

Wow! the thread’s been up for only like 10’ and already has had 10 or so posts. Gee, you’d think it was one of those flame-throwing political hot potato threads or something for the number of hits its had :D

BTW, mowc, I am sure your realized that I married a MUCH (well… 4 1/2 yrs) younger man!! I am an old broad with young kids. DH is just young… :)

We are all young! (well- at heart…)
Daughter is home with her beautiful ring- sorry she missed the dinner last night.

I was sorry I missed her, and the ring. Does she remember having met S#1 in their res. college?? I forgot to ask .

I had an extremely enjoyable sushi dinner with DukeEgr93 while in Durham last August. A true pleasure!!!
He is, however, the only CCer I’ve met in person, though you’d never know that what with how I feel about some of y’all! :)

~berurah

I hope to meet MOWC when she comes back to her old stomping grounds in Texas! (or any other CCer who comes my way)

It would be great fun to put a face to a CC “personality!”

Jym,

Did you get WildChild’s autograph? He is a CC celebrity after all! :)

That would have been brilliant, if I’d have thought of it. I am hoping maybe mowc will send me his fake ID as a souvenir when he really turns 21!!
:D

Sushi!! I LOVE Sushi!! Name the place! I’ll be there!

Oh, by the way, forgot to mention… The booth we were sitting in was in a corner by several windows. There was a typed note on one of the windows that said it was broken, and not to open it, or risk paying $5,000 to replace it when it fell out and onto the ground below. Each line of the note had lots of !!! which Wildchild commented upon. GUESS who we thought of, with all the !!! (!!!)
