I need advice. I messed up my junior year and I don't know how to manage my time or work towards anything

Well we cannot diagnose online, obviously, but as I posted before, you seem to me like classic ADHD. Your most recent post even more so. I really hope you can stop blaming yourself and get a diagnosis and a program from a professional. The fact that you have come back here lets us know you have not been able to access help. That is a priority I think. Your school might be able to do an evaluation, but a psychiatrist or even primary care can diagnose ADHD. Check out the questionnaires that are online. Some have questions that include hyperactivity with attention issues and some just have questions on attention.

You seem stuck on a hamster wheel. We are not able to help. You may even benefit from medication along with time management strategies. You deserve help. Not blame or self-blame.

ps Work WITH your brain. I wish you had taken the summer off. Again, adjust your expectations if they are causing stress and lower performance than you want.

I’ve considered it for a long time but I’m just scared about a diagnosis. I’m waiting to be able to get my own transportation so I can go somewhere private w/o it appearing on a record anywhere. As for the last comment, I was free most of the summer and I was honestly more miserable than I was loaded with work getting 6 hours of sleep for half the week. It’s a weird limbo where I struggle to do work but I’m also unhappy without it. But I also get over things pretty quick and I’ve made a more realistic college list for myself, so I’m not as distressed as I was when I wrote that post. Thank you for your compassion though.

You can’t change the past. Forgetting the issue, I think you’ll have to choose amongst these:

And your issue isn’t going to matter.

Relax. Take Econ, not anatomy.

And get back to studying or get some sleep.

Nothing will go on record unless you want it to. If you want accommodations at college, and if have a professional diagnosis, you would register with the Office of Disabilities or Office of Student Access or whatever they call it, and talk with professors. However, you are not obligated to do that in any way and if you don’t, then any evaluation is private and not shared with schools. And good for you for coming up with a college list that fits you more. Good luck!

Honestly, I’m doing better now and that list has changed quite a bit. I think I have a very decent shot at a school like William and Mary, and kids with similar stats, ECs, and classes as me get into it all the time at my school, so I’m hopeful about schools of that caliber (although still being realistic).

You should update your chance me with your new list.

Define caliber. W&M is a fine school but so are many others. My daughter was WL - didn’t stay on - because she knew she was going to C of C (which is lower rated). My kid turned down Purdue engineering for Alabama.

You’re in VA - W&M is fantastic. But I work with someone in Va Bech and their kid got into UVA but is going to CNU. It just fits them better.

So W&M is great - but don’t worry about caliber.

Worry about finding a school that a) you can afford and b) you feel you belong. VA has many publics - so you have your choice of low cost (if that’s needed) variety - that are mainly very good.

You will be somewhere day after day for four years - so you need the right fit, not the biggest name.

Of course, one doesn’t truly know if the fit is right til they are there - but some know they need a certain size or urban density or level of football or weather or food quality, etc. So find that one that fits you best.

If that’s W&M, I hope you get in and great. But if not, CNU is great. JMU is great. A C of C if you like urban is great or a Miami of Ohio feels like a large W&M - but in many ways similar.

So your success isn’t made or not made based on where you go - I promise you!!! You will be wholly responsible for that success.
