Help helpp. My mom’s fiftieth is on cming and I’m getting her a new lamp for her night stand. She’s always complaining about the one she has so I thought I’d get her a new one.
I found 3, but I can’t decide which one is the best.

Can you guys help me?

First off, the night stand is white wood, the dominant color in the room is light blue, and the wall near the night stand is pink with burgandy stripes.

Lamp 1 is really funky and super 2009 and it has the right color and shape to fit the room. But it’s battery powered and the light it emits is kind of a light purple rather than a white. I’m concerned that that’s not classy and may not be right. But it’s so cooool.

Lamp 2 is a very nice lamp because it’s not basic. It’s super cute and I like the shape and it’s the perfect color, but I don’t know is my mom would be all smiles with a lamp that opens from the top.

Lamp 3 is a really really nice lamp. It’s very charming and seductive but it costs a lot more than the other two and I want to know if it’s really as cool as I think.

…So which lamp do you think would be the best choice? I need to order it by tuesday.

My mom dragged me to go lamp shopping with her three months ago. haha
So basically. My mom would probably fall in love with #2…
But for moms, you really want something practical and beautiful at the same time. We looked at TONS of #2’s and #1s (my mom loves these things), but she ended up with something almost EXACTLY like #3 (but purple) because it’s simple, beautiful, and practical. According to her, #1’s light is way to dim/weak. #2’s is amazing, but those kind of lamps are really annoying (the top blinds you…). Lamps like #3 are really the best kind…

But again, this is just my opinion based on my mom’s rantings three months ago…
If you can afford it, I would DEFINITELY go with #3. That’s what I would buy my mom…

I feel like I’m the only one who honestly doesn’t like lamp 2. I really don’t like it. Lamp 1 probably won’t work in all rooms, but since you picked it out, I guess that style, with all the vegetal stuff and arabesques, works. I like #3 best.

I agree that this is a really funny thread.

Anyway, I think lamp 3 is the most practical, and you should probably get that type if it’s going on a night stand… it will probably be kind of hard to read with lamps like 1 or 2. Even if lamp 3 is too expensive, you could look into other similar but less expensive types.
