<p>Yesterday my dad told me, he was once offered to be a professor at Harvard, in Dentistry.</p>

<p>Haha…my mom told me she once had an offer from Harvard too, along with NYU and several other well-known schools. She teaches now at a small college that no one on CC has probably ever heard of, but she’s tenured and happy so I guess it works for her.</p>

<p>atleast ure dad has a job in a well field. Ure atleast somewhat priveledged. My parents work at prison as poor officers who get minimum wages. So chill out. I bet ure dad makes some type of good money if he was offered at Harvard. I know ure ****ed that he didnt take it cuz it woulda been ez admittance for you but whatever happens happens.</p>

<p>^^Psh, sushant269, don’t complain. At least your parents HAVE jobs. The economy hit us hard and I have 2 parents out of work (well, technically one on disability).</p>

<p>I think it’s clear that however bad one person’s situation is, I can find someone else whose position is worse. Sushant, I know it sometimes seems unfair that some parents are offered a tenure at Harvard and others are working as prison guards. But think of it this way - you’re probably going to end up at a much more fulfilling job than your parents’, and your kids will get to have well-educated parents, too :)</p>

<p>Sunshant269, I am simply in awe that my father was offered such an occupation; never have a thought cross my mind of such a proposal.
Also, I did not conceive of this proposal to the extent of a free ride.</p>

<p>My dad was a professor at a university in Toronto when we lived there. It may have been University of Toronto.</p>
