<p>It’s scary out there. I came to the forum (fairly recently) thinking that my D is a pretty good student, and while not necessarily Ivy material (personality as well as stats), would be able to get get into some decent schools. After reading some of the students’ forums (and a few posts on this one as well) I am rather discouraged.</p>
<p>Yes, stay here. I venture into only a couple of other forums.</p>
<p>And, while the group on cc as a whole is quite skewed to the high-achieving, realize some of the posts are totally made up.</p>
<p>Seriously, while there are students posting here and there (some of them on this forum) who have a healthy outlook, and are here to learn more or to share the actual knowledge/experience they have, the majority of the student threads are, at best, well meaning but unbelievably misguided and/or poorly informed. </p>
<p>Stay here. We have cookies. 
And coffee.</p>

<p>Son got a [GASP!] C on his report card. Not for the final grade, but for 4th qtr. Now his WGPA is “only” 3.914. I’ve been in a funk over it since Wednesday. </p>
<p>I keep telling myself to snap out of it and back away from CC. But it’s not working. :(</p>

<p>My son made his first B ever for a semester grade, an 89. His comment: “It’s all because of the 73 on the midterm. I still don’t think that’s right.”</p>
