I want to go to Boston University...but it cost so much?

It’s a good school. It’s what I really want, large and it’s in Boston.

The only problem is the tuition is like 38,000 and they raised it to 39,000 this year, I think. And on top of that if I go I’ll be moving there from the Midwest…so isn’t that more money?

what are some other choices that you have?
Boston is not that strong IMO. I mean it. I have a couple friends who went to Boston last year.

^BU is highly regarded, nationally & internationally. it was ranked as a top-50 university in the WORLD, on 2 separate lists that i have seen for undergraduate schools. OP-if you do decide to go, i’ll see you there next year :]

…okay, not technically top 50, loll. but still what i consider to be pretty damn good for all of the colleges in the world.

That third list you have is nonsense.

cool, take from my other two, then. all rankings can be called nonsense from any-damn-body. they all use subjective criteria, hellooo.

Most college lists are in the same sort of ballpark, even if you don’t agree with the criteria used for listing them.

That last one was just wacky.

Thanks, Kant. That must mean they’re all equal, right? HELLOOO!

kant? LOL, no need to be an ass.

Besides the fact that this is a silly statement in itself, you fail to identify how rude your original response to mine was.

I am an ass, but I don’t tell others not to be. You fail to realize how you come across as a condescending air-head.

cool, idc how i come off to you ;]

What’s the topic? I think your question is whether Boston’s living expenses are higher than midwest? Almost certainly yes, unless you live in Chicago. Compare your city to Boston at [Cost of Living Comparison](Cost of Living Comparison Calculator)

It measures salary but it also provides a breakdown of all the expenses you can expect to incur and will compare your city and Boston relative to the national average.

And yes, that’s a lot of money. Who’s paying for your tuition, how much money do they/you have set aside for college tuition, and what are your alternative schools? Are you expecting aid, and if so, is it a scholarship or loan?

All of this affects your decision. If you have a much cheaper but solid academic alternative you should (IMO) take it. $200,000 is not worth any 4 year experience, so if you can get a good degree for far less take it. You’ll probably end up really liking whatever school you go to anyways.

But yet you say to me that there is “no need to be an ass”.

So you’re just a double-standard ***** or a clueless idiot. Got it.

wow, & you think i’m condescending? you have some serious problems if you can’t just let it go. i already told you that your opinion is of no value to me…so, let’s move on.

See, you must be dense because you are missing the point.

I may be a condescending ass, but I don’t tell others not to act the same way I do (as you did, see the contradiction?)

So that concludes in you being a hypocrite or someone who is totally socially inept/clueless.

so far, you’ve called me a *****, a clueless idiot, socially inept/clueless, dense, a hypocrite, & several other colorful words.

& yet, do you see how i still don’t care & refuse to sink to your level? [i’m sure you’ll call me a few more ‘clever’ things in your next couple of rant-like posts, that i will surely continue to ignore ; )]. have a pleasant evening.

Right, but have I ever told you - or anyone else, please speak up if I have - to not say them about me?

No.

Have you, despite being an ass yourself?

Yes.

Are we on our way to understanding basic logic here?

I
DO
NOT
CARE
…i think you’re missing THAT basic logic. but, please, continue to have a pointless argument, with yourself. it will be quite entertaining for other CCers when they stop by to read this thread, only to realize that you’ve wasted their time, but maybe provided some minimal entertainment for them.

I like being right and making you feel wrong.

I succeed.

but…i don’t feel wrong. i have said that “i do not care” about 5 times, so far. ■■■■■, do you really not see how they are not the same thing??? you can not possibly be that thick in the head…
