for scaring the ***** out of me !

I was just on here a week ago, and I’m reading all these college related fears… most of them are the essays. I’ve never heard of essays you have to write to universities, so when I found out we need them I thought
- I’m an idiot, for not knowing about them
- WHAT ON EARTH DO I DO?

THEN, I asked a million people if I have to do an essay, and they all said no.
I’m canadian, our essays are covered by the literacy tests we have to pass in grade 10.

I’m an idiot =(

Oh man, is it too late to start worrying about that 10th grade test score? What if it’s too low? What if you don’t get into a university?!

;)

Clearly I would have failed those literacy tests because that didn’t make any sense to me.

Im canadian…
What literacy tests in gr 10.

We have to write essays too dont we…

Hahaa no you wouldn’t, it takes effort to fail those tests, seriously. Basically I was panicking because I didn’t know about the essays when I actually don’t need to do them.

And AeroEngineer3141, I’m lucky that universities don’t look at the score because if they did, I would not be able to sleep at night. (I got 91%, what if thats not good enough?!)

^^ What province do you live in?
The literacy tests are only in ontario I think…

Are you applying to any colleges in the US?

No. I don’t think I would pass the SATs. If you can even fail them? I dont really know lmao.

I’m sticking to Canada =)

I like the concept of admissions essays, it makes me feel like I still have a bit of control.

^ Me too.

@Liverpool: The SATs…aren’t exactly hard. It’s reading comprehension + middle school math + writing skillz.

So, if that’s the reason you’re not applying to US colleges, I think you should reconsider. :]
