IDOC processing times

Would you say that “2-3 business days” is more like a goal than the typical turn around here during crunch time? Surely.

I do see the “received” icon with the green up arrow next to the docs I uploaded on 2/3, but nothing seems to have actually been processed yet. There’s nothing else to do but wait, right?

I’m just asking to soothe the very small, vague first-timer paranoia that I missed a click.

This is the first year you can upload instead of mailing paper copies. So I don’t think anyone knows, unless they chime in here that they submitted earlier than you. I uploaded yesterday.

Thanks for letting me know!

I uploaded on 2/5 and still waiting.

As an aside…who designed this thing? Why can I not indicate WHAT doc I’m uploading instead of just uploading everything they ask for willy-nilly in one big digital pile? It’s odd.

I also digitally signed a couple of them and if that’s not OK I may need to print, scan and re-upload.

This may be a good year to upload early. None of D’s schools need docs before 3/1 so I’m not too worried.

I uploaded 2 forms on 2/3 and those have been processed. I uploaded more forms on 2/4 and those have not been processed yet.

@OHMomof2 - How exactly do you sign them digitally? I was waiting for my D to come home to sign hers. I tried to name the individual files so that it would be obvious what they are.

I just called CB. 1 - he said digital signing is OK. @musicmerit - it’s a feature in Adobe Acrobat Reader that lets you certify you are you and signs doc for you. I use it often because I hate printing and scanning PDFs. I also fill out the entire form in Acrobat Reader using the type tool.

Here’s an explanation of the signing feature: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/electronic-signatures-e-signatures.html

Also, he said they are aiming for 2-3 days and it is taking longer but he sounded like it wouldn’t be THAT much longer.

Uploaded 02/05/15. Should have been processed by end of day 02/10/15 (3rd business day). Still not processed.

Uploaded 6 documents the evening of 2/3. They were finally visible as processed today, 2/11. The processed date reads 2/4.

Also, things look a little strange. I uploaded two w2s, one for parent and one for student but now there are four w2s showing in processed list. It looks like they duplicated each w2 so parent has 2 and student has 2. There is also an extra document in the processed list with a generic title. Could be a cover sheet but I’m not sure as I couldn’t preview it.

Same timing for me: uploaded 2/3, finally show processed today, 2/11, but dated 2/4.

Uploaded: 2/5, still nothing

Does anyone know how collegeboard’s delay on idocs impacts our paperwork with the individual schools’ deadlines? I uploaded on 2/10 so based on what I’m seeing here, it will be a while before they are actually processed. I’m quite concerned - although collegeboard told me not to worry! :stuck_out_tongue:

I uploaded documents for my D and I the evening of February 4-5. None have been processed yet. Her college’s due date for receipt of these documents isn’t until March 2, but so far, I’m not impressed with how the College Board is implementing online uploads in IDOC. I understand new capabilities will have some issues when they’re fielded, but the least they can do is update their website with current processing times, instead of their aspirational, but apparently fictional 2-3 days. I e-mailed their customer service a couple days ago to inquire. They promised a response within 24 hours, but Customer Service failed on that one, too–I have yet to receive an e-mail response. I called them and the rep I talked to said they were hoping to get my documents processed by tonight. That seems to have failed, too.

And why can’t they have check marks after you upload each required document!?

I had “the no student W2” form in on 2/3, the 1st day IDOC was available, it was processed on 2/5/. So that was good.

The other 5 files I uploaded on 2/5 have been sitting there forever.

One of the schools I am applying to has a deadline of 2/15/2015, which is tomorrow. I called the College Board this morning, and was told that the uploaded documents will be processed by next Friday. Now this is like 2 to 3 weeks processing time, not 2 to 3 days as they claim.

@rdtsmith - because they don’t let you ID what doc you’re uploading. I am sure the CB pays their web developers well but that is such an easy thing to write it boggles the mind that they didn’t include that feature.

I uploaded on 2/8, and called the CollegeBoard on 2/12 to find out why my documents had not been processed. The customer service rep verified that there were no missing documents, and asked me to check back the next day (2/13). Today is 2/14 and the documents are still not processed with a rapidly approaching deadline of 2/15.

I don’t understand why the idoc does not allow self identification of the uploaded documents. Even as a manual process, it shouldn’t take long for someone at CollegeBoard to ID the documents. I realize that this is crunch time, but they shouldn’t be advertising a 2-3 business day turn-around time when it’s actually on the order of weeks.

Nine days so far but earliest deadline is 3/2. What’s really fun is NCP won’t upload his docs until MAYBE the end of this month and if it takes this long to process we may have issues.

I did identify the docs by file names like dadw2, kid1040, etc. Still waiting for 2/9 upload to be processed, but it sounds like it will be a while! No urgent deadline since D is a returning student. I think the colleges will be understanding of the delays in the process since it is new this year. But they will be unable to get their aid packages together until they get the documents.

I called them a couple days ago and was told they had finally hired some staff. Background checks, anyone?
