Sorry, I’m just very frustrated and Lafayette won’t accept calls now.
@liz1497 I’ve been waiting for 1:35 with stupid IDOC. I uploaded my documents as scans from my printer. Could that have something to do with it? The 1040s and 1099s processed just fine.
@dhizzy I scanned my documents with my printer and converted them to PDF files. Did you convert them? Although, it says that it accepts JPEG. Can you call Lafayette tomorrow during their working hours? I’m not sure what else you can do besides wait and hope for the best I feel like this has happened to everyone and everyone is just so frustrated.
@liz1497 I got through to IDOC and they said they are escalating the case. Not sure what that is supposed to mean but as of today nothing has changed.
I submitted the custodial tax return on the 16th and the international student non tax filer statement on the 18th. The student non tax filer statement has been processed but the custodial tax return still has not been. I’ve tried emailing them but they haven’t responded as of yet.
I just got an email from IDOC today saying they received my packet and everything is good. It was all processed, it says, on March 3rd. Obviously though, my family mailed it much earlier than that. Hopefully everyone else’s IDOC can be worked out and processed soon!
@TheDidactic I got one too!
We got that email also, AND one saying one doc wasn’t legible. Now I have to call, sigh…
Still nothing! They told me “my case was being escalted” on monday! I hate the collegeboard soooooooooooo much!!!
@dhizzy Every person I have talked to that submitted to IDOC on February 13th has not had their documents processed, including me. I’ve been in daily contact with the college board, and it seems there was a bug in the system. I would wager that this bug affected documents submitted on February 13th, as people who submitted before and after that date don’t seem to be having nearly as much trouble. They claimed that my documents will be done by tomorrow, but I’m not positive. Be persistent, ask to speak to a supervisor, etc. “Escalation” of the case didn’t do anything. I think they are aware that Feb. 13th document submissions had some issues, but I don’t know when they will resolve it. Good luck
First time got a mail from CB about IDOC documents, not in response for our earlier many emails. There were two mails separated by about 3-4 hours, the first mails says, the IDOC documents were not submitted and asked to submit. The second mail came after 3 hours, is an apology message for a wrong email sent earlier. The documents were uploaded on 2/11. There was no Friday the 13th bug, it looks like a Full-Feb bug for all the people who submitted in Feb.
My son’s documents were uploaded on February 15th but are not processed as of today. I spoke with an IDOC representative who, supposedly, sent his information to their Processing Center today. We’ll see if anything changes.
I uploaded documents as pdf files. My tax return, for example, was processed some days later and ended up being broken up (by IDOC) into separate files (1040 form, schedule a, 1099s, w2, etc.) The icons show that the uploaded files were all processed. The processed documents, as divided by IDOC, show as processed and available the college. My daughter even got an email saying our doc’s had been processed and made available to the college. What is concerning, however, is that the top section of the screen, which shows what is required by the institution (tax returns for parents and student) still have the red exclamation point indicating ‘document has not been received.’ I am hoping that this is just a timing issue (i.e., it will go away in a few days), but wondered if anyone else has had similar experience and whether the exclamation point was eventually replaced with a green check mark for the required tax return entries. My daughter is away for break, so I will have her check her online acct. at the college when she gets back. Our deadline isn’t until 5/1, so I am not sweating too much, but my sympathy to those whose deadlines are running out while IDOC does (or doesn’t) do its thing.
We have the same. Exclamation point still there (and docs broken up[, sometimes incorrectly, even), but all colleges seem to have what they need. I spoke on the phone with one school who had a doc showing as outstanding on their portal, but they were able to retrieve it from idoc even though idoc hasn’t “processed” it as that doc. I suggest an email or call to the FA offices to double check if you aren’t sure.
We have the same issue! Checked off now not checked off. And it says I submitted “prior year” returns when I didn’t. My federal tax return is now red again. 3 of the 4 schools we are awaiting word from say they have all the docs they need. It’s really messed up.
It’s probably a timing issue. I don’t file taxes so I submitted a non-filer’s statement, which is clearly shown in the bottom half as Received by the institution. However, it still says places require my 1099 and W2’s. I assume everything is fine and it’s just a computer glitch in the systems. IDOC should implement a part in the programming where if a nonfiler tax statement shows as submitted for the student, 1099’s and W2s are removed…
Agreed, but that would mean that common sense has been applied, something which the College Board is sorely lacking.
They should also let us upload specific documents to meet the list of needed documents rather than just upload a bunch in a pile for them to sort. Then a check box or “x” could appear next to specific docs. You’d think they’d have the money to hire web developers who can do this…I am one and it isn’t rocket science.
You may still have a 1099 or W2 that you have to submit to colleges even if you do not have to file a tax return.
Our docs sit on IDOC website unprocessed for a month now.
IDOC seems to be up to speed at this point. I uploaded financial docs on 3/23, and IDOC notified me today that they’ve been processed. I contacted the school my son applied to, and was told that while there had been delays earlier in March, IDOC appears to be caught up at this point (3-5 days between uploading and when they are available to the colleges). I also called IDOC today because I did have a question, and got through to customer service within 2-3 minutes. After reading these postings I was despairing of having any luck either getting documents processed or getting through to customer service before May, but it appears, with us at least, they turned a corner.
