IDOC processing times

Thanks, #cakeandtears. At least they realize that they skipped over documents submitted on 2/13, and they’re aware of the error. Did they say that they are now processing those 2/13 docs at least? Thanks!

I uploaded my documents on 2/23 and they just got processed and funnily enough they put the processed date as 2/23. Anyways, the column that says “available to institution” is blank, does this mean none of the required schools can see the documents? Is anybody else having this problem? Also, the “required documents” area still says that I have not submitted them.

I feel like although this was a new feature, they should have realized that problems would come up and should have been prepared to deal with them as such. I was hoping for a financial aid award with an acceptance letter, if I were to get accepted, but it’s looking that that is not going to be the case.

My daughter’s processing dates are actually a couple of days after the dates she actually uploaded, but well before the due dates by the schools. She also has documents listed in the required documents area. After I called and emailed, the “Available to Institution” area was finally completed (March 5). I got on the portal for one of the schools that was listed next to the “Required Document” that was still listed, and the school shows that all of my daughter’s financial information is complete. I don’t know why it still lists the documents under that section.

I am hopeful that all of the listed schools now have what they need, even though it was several days past their due date. I am not sure how the lateness will affect any potential financial aid.

I snail mailed my documents on 2/20 and my documents are still labeled as “not received”

My emails are not going through and I have unsuccessfully called several times - each time getting either a busy tone or hearing the other line end without talking to a live person…

Should I be worried?

@oldUVAgrad So do you suggest I email IDOC and ask about the “available to institution” area? Because the deadlines already passed and they JUST got processed, and I can’t even imagine how much longer it’ll take for the “available to institutions” section to be filled. Even though the College Board says that colleges will be notified o the processed date, but I feel like that is just not true! I just hope I get any type of financial aid. :frowning:

I would. You can also try calling, but I’ve waited anywhere from 30 to 70 minutes on hold:). I hope next year they hire more staff!

I uploaded items on Feb. 3 and they still have NOT been processed! 3 deadlines have already passed! Already called and emailed with no reply. Will be calling tomorrow.

Uploaded on 2/11 for 3 colleges, due dates 2/15, 3/2 and 3/5. Still not processed. Below the college deadlines and Required Documents, now they show ‘the earliest deadline has passed, submit your documents now’. At the same time somewhere on the page they also show ‘Please do not upload your file(s) more than once’. These two are contradictory statements and lead to confusion. Today is Mar 9th and for almost one month college board did not touch them or don’t know what is up there. Calling College board from India is expensive while thinking of waiting for an hour on hold for a live person to talk and still don’t get the required information as posted earlier. Hope they don’t mess up the documents. They already messed up the deadlines.

I am surprised in the present days of computational technology how difficult it is to give a link for uploaded status online when a document is uploaded. At least we know that the document is uploaded and waiting to be processed by someone in flesh and blood. Now it is a black box.

I uploaded docs on 2/13 and 2/25 and still nothing’s been processed.

It appears that their self-reported status of “As of 3/9, we are processing documents that were electronically uploaded or delivered by mail/courier through 2/26.” really isn’t accurate.

I think that message is just adding a day every day, but does not reflect specific work on each document. Tomorrow should be the day they process the last document I uploaded. I am not expecting it to actually get processed.

The message looks an automated message generated from the software. Yesterday, a Sunday the message was a day earlier on both dates. Are they really working on a Sunday? If so why so much pending? They goofed up with the software, like last year’s common application. Anyway most of Colleges, even if they announce the admissions, the finance aid will be sent only in the first week of April. The colleges are not in a Hurry!

I checked the Columbia financial aid tracking (one of the schools I applied) and it seems that they have received my documents (although the IDOC website doesn’t have a date for the “available to institution” section) that I uploaded but the date says the 3/06 which was the date they were processed. So either the College Board is lying about giving the colleges the date you uploaded your documents (rather than the date they processed it which could be after the deadline), or they’re just putting the date they received it and find out the date when they look at the actual documents.

I uploaded my documents on 2/13 and only my parents 1040 and 1099 have been processed. Still waiting for w-2, student non tax filer statement, and cornell verification to go through and its been almost a month. I emailed them and got no response, then tried calling them but was on hold for an hour and gave up. Is this normal? Schools are already notifying me of missing documents.

@dhizzy well they took 2 weeks to process mine and it looks like that’s about what they’re taking. I would call the schools and ask them if this will impact you in anyway. Do any of your schools have a financial aid tracking system to see if they’ve received any of the materials?

@dhizzy did you submit all those forms on the same date? I submitted mine all at the same time and they get processed at the same time.

@liz1497‌ Yeah, I submitted all of them on 2/13.

@dhizzy I would try to call the schools and ask if this will set you back in any way or call IDOC and just put them on speaker and do hw while you wait. They might not reply and you’re just going to have to wait :frowning:

@liz1497 It’s not my fault that IDOC decided not to process my forms. I’m starting to get scared that I might not get aid because of this.

@dhizzy I’m not saying it’s your fault; I completely agree. They processed my documents after my financial aid deadline and I’m hoping they don’t deny me financial aid because of it. That’s why I’m saying you should call your particular colleges to see if there is something they would like you to do, such as sending them the documents directly.
