Does anyone know how the in-state tuition rule would work for a felon who is going to school in Indiana and wants to live with her family in Florida and go to school in Florida? The probation would transfer to Florida, but would that automatically qualify her for in-state tuition? We just want her to continue school and keep a good school routine.
Anybody know of scholarships for felons?
The felony was non-violent. Indiana is a 3 strikes and you are out with dui’s. The last dui was just sitting in her car, in her driveway listening to music - above the legal limit. Not good. She has since done all the classes and is drug and alcohol free looking for a better life and to complete college.
Also, a side note: We are not happy at all about the felony background that she currently has. IMO, it is really getting bad in the US where just about anybody can get put in jail/prison for any reason. It is not like it use to be when I was growing up. The US now has a prison business incentive - many states are hiring for profit companies to run jails and prisons - it is a business model that really is bad for Americans — if you get sucked into the system, it is very difficult to get out.
