If You Were Deferred...

If you applied Early Decision and were deferred, there are definitely things you can do to help the Admissions Office decide to admit you during the Regular Decision process. If something great happens to you (i.e. you become a leader of an awesome organization that you believe in or that’s making a difference in your community/school or you win an important award or were nominated/chosen for a special position, like say Congressional intern to one of your state’s Senators, etc.), share that info. w/ the UVa Admissions Office. If your grades and/or SAT/ACT scores improve, share that data too. Getting more recommendations is not necessarily helpful if they’re saying the same things that were already mentioned in the previous recs, but if someone submits a rec. that elucidates an extraordinary aspect about you, that could raise your chances for admission.

Good luck!

i sent a letter to them about a suspension i had and how it wasnt as serious and stuff as it sounds. also i am in a process of writing another essay… why i want to to go uva? how does that sound?

Do you have any new info. about yourself that you could add? Awards, leadership, improvement in scores, etc.? If so, definitely mention them. The more positive info. about you the better.

i plan to include all the leadership and awards i dont have any new ones, but i plan to discuss those in my mid year report… they tell u to include that stuff so… i plan to write stuff about how my grades are the best in 4 year… i have 6 a, 1 b in 4 ap classes.
