If you wrote this in your essay, take note!

“my ties to the university are long and deep. in addition to having several family members who are alumni, i was also circumcised at hillel. i look forward to engaging in the academic, social, and orthodox jewish communities on campus.”

"from a kid describing camping in the wilderness and overcoming his fear of pooping anywhere other than his bathroom. at the moment of crisis he finds a tree and lets loose. his description (direct quote!): “This was the moment that I made the world my toilet; I was among the ruthless animals who conduct their business out of doors: a feral howl came from my anus.”

Your right to privacy has been compromised by a Penn admission officer who recently posted these on her Facebook for laughs, and you should raise the matter with the admission office immediately. It is unacceptable that an admission officer should betray the trust of kids who’ve poured their hearts out for her.

Privacy rights aside, someone wrote an essay about pooping and that’s hilarious

The validity of such occurrence is in question.

^I don’t know… they’re pretty specific for treynor to be trolling. Then again, it’s unlikely that the 2 people that wrote those are on CC out of the thousands of ED applicants…

How is the OP friends with a Penn admissions officer anyway?

^It was posted in a closed thread with links to facebook photos apparently

These essay snippets were on the Facebook page of an admissions officer. Well, at least purportedly. This could be an elaborate hoax. Who knows.

If this is true, shame on the admissions officer.

If this is a hoax, shame on the perpetuator.

The admissions officer also said that these examples weren’t even the worst. Essentially, she said people were trying to be “too creative”. Which is good for the rest of us, right?

Link to closed thread?

i saw the pics and the thread, the woman is actually a penn admissions officer

^screenshot please? feel free to wipe out the name/profile icon…

The screenshots do look pretty convincing but who knows. It could be photoshopped? For the benefit of Penn’s reputation I sure hope it’s not true.

^The thread is closed so I’m not sure anyone has screenshots. They definitely existed, though their validity is debatable.

the screenshots looked fairly legitimate, and the name and picture all checks out. but who knows for sure…

Can anyone provide a link to the closed thread?

This is the original thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1424736-acceptable-behavior-admissions-counselor.html

just to let everyone know, I googled the thread searching for a cached version and in the description i actually found the links to the pictures (in the google description box). Obviously the original thread was taken down so I am not going to repost but just letting people know that said pictures do still exist and are findable. That said I do not plan on spreading these photographs.

Oh god… I found the pics of the FB thread. Like 20 people commented on it, basically ridiculing the post and asking for more posts. When asked to make a blog of “admission essay fails”, the admission officer, who is named (first and last name) responded with:

“haha if it weren’t such a professional risk/liability, I totally would. luckily, such a blog basically exists already! &admissions officers from all over submit to it. i personally don’t submit to it for privacy reasons, but it is hilarious. it captures all the best/worst parts of working in admissions”

The posts look VERY real, and the admissions counselor’s name is even released. This loses my respect for UPenn and for the general admissions process SOOO much.

^^ I found those pics too… They look really realistic. The admissions person in question is my regional officer, so I guess it’s good to know that those essays came from my direct competition.

Ya, she does Connecticut…
