Are there people in your school who think they can get into highly selective schools with less than 25% admissions rate, and they don’t have the stats to back it up?

I know some, and its aggravating. They think they can get in but they don’t know how to play the “admissions game.” For example, two people, though smart want to go to Harvard and Stanford, respectively. They toss in a few boring EC’s, have no hooks, and have the stats of an average person who is rejected. But they still think they can get in.

It also annoys me when people tell me I can get in easily. Do they even realize how hard it is and how much “luck” is involved?

They are ignorant of the admissions process and will be crushed by rejection…
