Didn’t CC used to have an ignore button? ( around the advent of the automobile). ;)

I would find it very handy because some posters take up much scrolling time.
Not the majority by any means or even a large minority, but that is by numbers of posters - not number of * posts*.

I thought that “edit your ignore list” meant you wanted to ignore any PMs from posters who write to you. Well, maybe that just happened to me. I like getting PMs.

When you go to My Control Panel, click on the Edit Your Ignore List (as mentioned above). There will be a box where you can add in screen names you wish to ignore. A caveat, though, is that you will still see that they have posted, you just won’t see the post.

teri, if someone who is on my ignore list tried to PM me, would I know that? Would the person know the PM didn’t go through? A weird PM is the reason I put someone on my ignore list. I have no idea whether that person is aware he’s on it …

youdon’tsay - that’s a very good question. Let me check with the moderating team and get back to you.

I do know that people don’t generally know that they’re on someone’s ignore list, unless they specifically repeatedly ask the ignorer to reply to something in a thread, and the ignorer never sees it, so they never respond. And even then, the person being ignored can only assume.

sunnyflorida - keeping us all on our toes today with #10!

mafool - no need to feel stupid! lol, i forget a lot too. Right under the Parent Cafe sign or name of the thread on top, there’s a button called My Control Panel. It’s white letters with blue surrounding it.

Yoi’ll able to get to Edit Ignore List from there. It’s under Settings.

I wish I could just block CERTAIN posters from sending me (offensive) PMs. I have blocked some of them…but the problem is the threads they post on then don’t “flow” very well…because I see the responses but don’t see the post to which they are responding. This is particularly bothersome when ONE poster dominates the posts on a thread (and those are the ones I’m most likely to want to block).

You also can click on the poster’s name and go to their public profile. From there, you can choose “user lists” and “add to ignore list” is one of the options.
