I'll probably be out of touch for a while after Thursday

Great news … you are on the road to recovery!

Ok, I understand about posting the room number. May we request it of jenesais_quoi or VeryHappy? Or would you prefer no cards? I’m not putting my return address on the 17 lbs, I don’t want them back.

Yay for the good news, Donna! I’m so relieved to hear things seem to be getting better. I hope you are feeling more comfortable now. I’m still sending my positive thoughts to you.

I am so happy to hear that you are picking up. Jello is jiggly and fun- enjoy the smooth slide down your better feeling throat! Rye will come in its time.

A great big happy round of applause as I imagine you tooling around with the IV pole!

Things are looking up! I still pray for you as your progress improves.
Love,pipmom

I just returned from spending an hour-plus with Donna. She got her first meal while I was there – chicken broth that she thought was “wonderful” and orange Jello that she savored. First flavors, and calories, that she’s had in days and days. While I was with her, she perked up considerably – I’d love to say it was due to my charm and great conversation, but I suspect it had more to do with getting a few calories into her. Based on my expert medical opinion (), she will continue to improve, all systems are go, and she’ll be back home by the weekend!

As they say, from my mouth to God’s ears.

Edit: She was, of course, on an IV all this time, so she in fact was getting calories that way. They weren’t trying to starve her up in Montreal!, but now she can take things by mouth.

Donna, first you craved ice chips and now you got to move onto broth and jello! Wow…things are lookin’ up.

Thanks, VeryHappy for the report.

All good news! Thanks for the updates DonnaL and VeryHappy! Donna, great progress!

Thank you veryhappy for the encouraging news.

VeryHappy, thank you for the update. Yay to Donna - keep it up young lady! Or rather down, if we are talking about food :)

Donna, I’m glad to hear that you are improving!

VeryHappy, thanks for being “Our Man in Havana” (or New York, as it were).

Donna, I’ve been out of the country the last two weeks, so just caught up today. Glad to hear that things are looking up and of course my best wishes for a speedy recovery from now on.

PS I also have at least 17 pounds I’d love to donate to the cause.

Now now girls, if we all send DonnaL all of our extra pounds, she will soon be looking “flabulous” instead of fabulous. :)

thank you! all donations of pounds gratefully accepted. and yes of course you can ask me or anyone who has it for my room number.

thanks so very much for visiting very happy, and for bringing magazines and earplugs! i think it was your good company and kindness that revived me, not just the few calories as welcome as they were. you are truly a good person. and great fun to talk to by the way.

love to all, donna.

I would be happy to donate 17 pounds to your cause. Glad that you’re feeling better!! Although the path to full recovery may have some bumps to it, sounds like you are going in the right direction.

Donna: I’ve been away from CC for a couple of days - I’m so relieved that you are back from Montreal and eating Jello!

VeryHappy: Yes, thank you for being our RL emissary and for bringing us such encouraging news.

Miss Emily

The CC community is amazing. I am so glad I found this forum.

(BTW, did you all notice the “related” threads that the computer programs have found to put at the bottom of this page? They all talk about Thursday. Pretty weak link!!)

Excellent news. Keep up the good progress.
