I'll probably be out of touch for a while after Thursday

Hi Donna,
I’ll buy you that ginger ale as soon as you are able. Hoping you make it to Mt. Sinai soon. They do have the greatest doctors there and I know you will be more comfortable with (almost) everyone speaking English rather than French! ;)

To Donna, stay strong and positive. I am also new to posting to your thread since a few days ago. If I still lived in Montreal I would visit you if only to keep you company and help out with the French a bit. I’m so sorry you have so much pain and are going through this. I send a ton of positive energy that you improve and that you can get back home. Hugs to you and James.

I am praying for you Donna, and I don’t pray often. Stay strong, we’re all sending you positive energy.

I’m sending along the positive cosmic vibes you requested, but if you’ve lost 10-15 pounds and were only 115 to start with, I think some good, home-cooked comfort food would be more the ticket. Ice chips may taste wonderful to you now … but hopefully, in another week or so, you’ll be thinking more along the lines of mashed potatoes.

Keep healing and know that you have an army of folks wishing you nothing but the best. Plus, you have a wonderful (and very articulate) son. What a blessing!

Hang in there, Donna. You have such a dear son (he obviously has your genes!). You’ll get through this.

Donna,

I can’t add anything to what others have already said except to say that you’re in my thoughts too.

I hope your insurance cooperates and you make it to Mt. Sinai soon.

Isn’t anyone on here who’s been posting located in or near Montreal??? I so want Donna to have a friend close by. Everyone needs someone to advocate for them while they’re in the hospital.

Donna, this sucks right now. Really sucks. It will be great if you can get to NY and Mt Sinai, but they are very competent in Montreal – it’s not the back woods of Africa, for Pete’s sake – and if, for whatever reason, you need the surgery up there, you will be fine.

I didn’t say happy; I said fine.

And you will heal, and you will regain your strength and your weight, and you will go back to work and continue your life in a glorious new way.

Getting through this sucks. But you will do it, and you’ll be fine. I promise.

Edit: I just checked the “in loco parentis” thread. No one indicated they are close to McGill, so I don’t think anyone on here is in Montreal. Sacre bleu! I can’t believe it!!!

Donna, my good thoughts and best wishes continue to flow their way up the 401 to Montreal and to you. I wish that I was closer. I actually could be there next week if that would be of any assistance to you, if, for some reason, you are still there and not back in NY. I am unable to travel before that but would be happy to do so next week. I really, really wish that I could do more. Please let me know, or have your wonderful son contact me via PM or email. Big, but gentle, hugs to you.

Donna, what a time you are having. Even through the haze of your trials, your beautiful, strong spirit shines bright. We are all praying for you, doubling the positive energy beamed your way. I am confident you will get to NYC and your familiar doctors where you will feel more comfortable and can heal best.

Here’s to ice chips, approved ambulance service, a functional GI tract and the most wonderful son a woman could ever hope to have. James is a treasure.

Here’s another huge but gentle hug.

Love,
jnsq

the situation is woorse. each days xray worse than last, more air more obstructiion. tomorrow still ok to travel, friday mybe no. im very frightened. i came literally a few hours from death of this 5 yrs ago. my gstroenterologist at mt sinai on vacation , almost impossible to reach. my surgeon doesnt work there anymore. insurance dragging feet. my close friend in ny trying to arrange for ambulance tomorrow, worry about who pays later.

So sorry things have taken a bad turn. I am praying for you, please try to not be frightened and know you have so much support here.

Praying for you, I’ve been reading but haven’t posted.

Holding you in my heart with hope and warmth and healing vibes. Also holding your caregivers with expectations of wisdom, skill, and caring.

Oh dear. Perfectly right. The money doesn’t matter at all.

Donna, my heart sank when I saw your last post. Hang in there! Praying for your recovery.

Oh, Donna, of course you are scared. I’m so sorry you are alone. If it helps at all, please know how many of us are holding you close to our hearts tonight. I know you will fight with every ounce of your strength and you will prevail. I am relieved you have a friend working to arrange an ambulance in time.

Regardless of where, I have confidence the medical personnel will appropriately intervene when necessary and you will recover from this latest bout.

If there is anything you or James need that those of us from afar can provide, please ask.

Donna - I’m sorry to hear of these complications but hopefully you’ll get through them soon. Give my thanks to James (and yourself) for keeping us posted. James sounds like a great son.

I feel so helpless, and I wish I could help. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Oh Donna, my heart is with you. Sending good wishes your way!

Donna,
I PMed you, don’t know if you got my message – I would be happy to translate anything you need to or from French. Please PM me back if you need that and I will send you my phone numbers.

Hugs and prayers to you.
