Moksha,
Can you tell me what your average class sizes are? How many were in your largest class and your smallest? Thanks for your time!

how is the campus life at ucf? people living on campus, parties, things to do, etc…

sorry if this has already been asked, I didn’t look through the other pages

If I told you big would you get upset? But to be serious, the intro and GED classes are usually big but I can’t really give you a set number. Your actual major classes will be small from what I have heard. My smallest class was my English classes at 25 I believe and my largest class was my Anthropology class(?) with like 350 students. 4 of my other classes freshman year all had above 150 students. The rest were really like 40-100 students. A small note though is you know the class size before you actually enroll.

There’s always something going on campus. I’ve seen things from busking, to seeing pictures of giant aborted babies, all the way to Jesus being crucified right outside the math building. On the sense of parties, you’ll need to really go off campus for that (You won’t need to tread far). In the sense of dorms, you will be notified if any event is coming up.

Thanks for the class size info. My daughter would be entering as a junior with her AA so she wouldn’t need GED classes. Hopefully those classes would be smaller (English/Writing). You said you can find out the class size in advance. Do you need to be a registered student to do that or is there a way for someone that isn’t enrolled to find out? Thanks!

wakeup13: you can see class size on myUCF before you register for a class

Would you consider the people there friendly? I’m a bit shy, and I always have trouble meeting new people that do not talk to me first.

I’m not Moksha :), but I consider the majority of people on and around campus fairly friendly.

My apologies, I haven’t checked this topic because Starcraft 2 has consumed my life Dx

What penguin said

They are friendly at UCF, and expect to see every kind of person you can imagine while you are at it.

I have a bike lock but it’s kind of thin. Is it common for people to cut the locks and steal your bike at UCF?

I haven’t heard any reports of bike theft but there are signs so it might be fairly common. I would say you’ll be fine but you may want to get a new lock just in case.

Does anyone know when students rooming on campus for fall get their PO box addresses?

I already got mine about a week ago. Go to your housing assignment on myUCF. It should show up now. :D

What penguin said. You will also receive that information when you move in.

I applied to UCF on July 24th and they received all my paperwork, including my high school transcripts, a few days later. It’s August 16 and I still haven’t been notified for admission/denial. How long did UCF take to notify you of their decision?

Penguin,

All dorms are carpetted at UCF.

SlyJayKnight,

You can use whatever paper you want. You will most likely never turn in an assignment on paper, everything is typed. If a teacher wants something specific, he or she will let you know on the syllabus.

You have to give other people time to apply haha. Your latest update will appear on myucf first. Um… maybe November-ish I would expect a reply? Personally, I got a decision in like 4 weeks but I applied in mid December.

I feel like I missed some questions. Did I? O_o

How is greek life on campus?

Thanks

Rjc- Last year they started the decisions in mid/late Sept. from what I remember. The year before it seemed earlier. It may be a few more weeks. Hang in there.

greek life is decently big. there are some big greek organizations and a lot of semi-greek organizations - especially the christian frat/sororities, but also honors societies, etc. but as far as IFC greek, it’s definitely not that big compared to most schools in the south. (but still big enough at a school of 56k that you would be swimming in opportunities to meet new people there)
