I'm not sure if this means a 92 in stuy will not mean as much as a 4.0 in another?

Dear John,

The Selection Committee considers academic rigor, course selection, opportunities offered at your school, and many other factors in addition to GPA. Cornell is very familiar with Stuyvesant’s curriculum and grading, so you can rest assured that your transcript will be fairly reviewed. It is also important to remember that admission decisions for Cornell are based on all of the components of the application, not just GPA.

Please feel free to contact our office if you have any additional questions.

Considering like 80 kids from Stuy get in a year, I’d say quit sweating it.

chendrix, did you go to stuy?

Nope. I’m not even from NY :)

Ah…Stuyvesant…how my future would’ve been different if I had gotten into it. I’d probably have a better quality education and be in a better position than I am now. Lol.

I have a 92.0 on the dot in stuy as well.
Cleary said 21 kids are applying to Cornell Engineering ED from our school this year.

Just use the stats from our previous years - they’ll give you the best benchmark anyone can give you.

92 at stuy is 50/50.

Good luck!

A million people get into Cornell from Stuy every year lol. If you go to an elite high school, adcoms will consider your academic record appropriately.

lol I feel you, Islander4. I was going to go to bronx sci but ended up moving the weekend before school started ._. About 10 of my friends ended up going to stuy.

darn shsat.

9 people are EDing CALS. 3 of them are doing AEM. There’s a lot more A/S’ers though. Yale EA’ers are a different story for all the stuy people who know ;).

a 92 at stuy is not as much as a 92 at hunter, I’ll tell ya that

Hah, yeah, I heard Yale EA this year is uhm, REALLY packed.

@above, let’s not go into that. That wasn’t the OP’s question and your input wasn’t welcome.

It seems like everyone and their mother is doing AEM ED this year…

now i feel bad that i go to bronx sci with a 92.5

Update
16 people doing CALS…not sure how many doing AEM, but 3 is the minimum from Stuy.

is cornell the most popular school at stuyvesant?

dayumm. lol.

Quote: is cornell the most popular school at stuyvesant?

No. Yale has > 130 EA applicants. Don’t even talk about MiT…the stack is high as hell. Columbia and NYU over 150 ED/EA.

And just in case people want to know about A/S and Eng there’s like 30+ Eding A/S and 20 + EDing eng.

lol… how many get into each of those schools every year? yale, mit, cornell, columbia, nyu

MIT is about 15-20 each year.
NYU is a lot, a lot of people use it as a safety (except for stern).
Yale is a handful, maybe 10-15?

i dont go to stuy but i can tell u columni, the numbers are high. I know like thirty last year got into harvard
