Wow I feel like everyone on this site is incredible!! I mean seriously. I’m seeing 1400 and 1500 level SAT scores and 3.7+ GPAs. Go all of y’all!!! I’m just trying to keep my head above water at this point yikes
Yeah, this website isn’t exactly an accurate representation of what average high school students are actually like. Just make sure not to fail any classes and earn respectable SAT scores (and no, I don’t mean >90th percentile) and you’ll surely get into a place that is suitable for your goals.
I feel ya man. I have a 3.4 GPA and 1200 SAT and am above average at my school but here I’m considered a terrible student lol.
Where my above 4.5 gpa homies at? Jk. But seriously. I have a GPA of 4.54 atm, and even I feel bad about myself sometimes when I’m on this forum. Especially when you see students who are already earning scholarships at grade 10, and they’re doing internships at companies and stuff haha.
Try your best! That’s all I got to say. Your SAT is higher than mine was and my ACT was a 25 3 times in a row(yes I did a prep class, felt I improved, but guess I didn’t.) I was actually more confident haha, but oh well. Got into a great school still!
Just work hard and it will pay off. It took me 4 years to realzie that and I remember being in Junior and senior year burnt out(thankfully I had some great teachers that made the year very memorable and some interesting clubs and positions I was a part of), and wondered if this was worth it?
I seen friends going out way more than me and seemed like they were having way more fun.
Have fun and work hard, it will be worth it!
People with high SATs/GPAs come here to get tips on how to get into the top colleges. But the majority of students go somewhere near home…you will find a college that is right for you!
This site is absolutely NOT the real world.
I teach seniors in a high school prep school.
Yes, we certainly have our share of kids who aim for the Ivies, for the perfect score on the SATs and all the rest.
But we also have our share of kids who will be going to community college because any other option is simply too expensive. And a lot of kids who will be heading for state schools because they’re the best fit, both academically and financially. And a number of kids who will find a small LAC with just the right support systems for them.
Do NOT let the “I’m smarter than you” crowd make you feel like anything less than a great kid, a great student, a great person with the potential to do so much good and to reach for your dreams.
Btw, is anyone interested in joining my online study group? lol not a joke tho.
A lot of high stats kids join this site because they want the affirmation and the ego stroke. Seriously, why do students with perfect stats need to be “chanced” at top schools?
