What if a student is already in the U.S…and has no permanent resident status either…so can’t provide the SS number for the application. Does such a student have any chance to be accepted in any college?

yup will be considered as an international applicant …

SM

You will just be considered as an international student. You might need to use a different application- if they are asking for SS you are probably looking at one for US citizens and permanent residents.

Yeah, you would be considered an international student. And internationals do have chances to be accepted at colleges.

Some schools have separate apps for nationals/domestics and for international students (regardless if they’re livin’ in the U.S.). If the SS number is optional or it states “if applicable”, then I think it’s an app usable by both groups.
