Those are my grades as of 3 school quarters in 7th grade. PA means like 1 year ahead, but in math it means 2 years ahead. As you notice I got a C+ in social studies for one quarter, but IMSA couldn’t care about social studies lol. Any other comments about my grades I should take under consideration. Also don’t mind like the S and a E it means nothing.

@aang1100 IK, I’m very anxious right now.

@AviSaxena33 So am I. It’s too long of a wait and far too much uncertainty.

@aang1100 Right? Especially considering the large wait list this year. The worst part is that you sort of have some hope, but there is the chance that you may get let down twice.

@AviSaxena33 Lol. Yeah we get 2x the pain, especially at Orientation without having gotten pulled off the list.

79 makes our chances fairly low, I think.

@aang1100 I really hope if they do put me in for orientation it’s for the July one so I don’t have to go in case I don’t make it in.

@AviSaxena33 What is a modified GPA?

@lsutiger25 If you’re referring to modified gpa in general, I think it refers to a weighted GPA which is on a 5.0 scale for AP and honors classes. If you’re referring to what IMSA calls a modified GPA then I think it’st the GPA they change from everybody’s APP into their own format by taking only science math and english gpa and adjusting the scale to a more standard one.

@AviSaxena33 We can get the call from Mid-June up till August 13th. So…you should go.

@AviSaxena33 I’m kinda upset because in my 6th grade year I was in advanced courses and got straight B’s each quarter. I’m now finishing my 7th grade year, and now I take school seriously and get the A’s in my advanced classes. In 8th, I’ll work hard and get A’s in my first semester probably in the advanced classes. I feel that IMSA should not care so much about your 6th grade grades. I mean it’s all old things. They should care about like an upward curve of your grades… Is my chances for IMSA over cause one little mistake in 6th grade

@lsutiger25 They don’t … It’s 7th, 8th, and 1st semester 9th grade …

@aang1100 Yeah I know, I’m going to go as it is required, but I’d really rather not cause the chances I get in are so low.

@AviSaxena33 Unless of course, we get the call before Orientation, that is-if you chose the July one. (Which I didn’t)

@AviSaxena33 I am applying as an 8th grader :wink:

@AviSaxena33 For IMSA’s modified GPA, do they basically find the mean of all your 6th, 7th, and first semester of 8th grade grades for science, math, and ELA?

@lsutiger25 Yes

do I have to mention in the optional statement why I’m approximately a year older than most freshman?

Of the 1/3 people who are accepted to IMSA, how many of those people are on the whitelist and get accepted
