@AviSaxena33 No. I just got the Orientation email. According to the list in the email, there are 274 students, accepted and waitlisted. (I counted). I don’t think they tell you if you did not get in. If you don’t get a call by the end of August 13th, you have not been accepted.
I was in the most advanced class in math. Which is algebra 2 honors. Than I also took biology honors. @Isutiger25

@YoloSwagMaster Man, I am going into eight grade and I am in the same situation as you were. I am taking 2 grades ahead in math, and 1 grade ahead in science, ela, and social studies. The difference is I get a combination of B’s and A’s. Granted that I am in District 204, which is one of the most competitive districts in illinois academically. Do you think they will cut me off because of my grades. I am planning to apply as an eighth grader

I’m going to be incredibly hypocritical right now and tell the eighth graders: Don’t do the math. Really, don’t. I get that you’re nervous and you want to know your chances and all. But seriously, the best thing to do is think about IMSA as little as possible. It’ll make the next 1-2 years much easier for you. Do try to find everything you can about essays and such, however. Just don’t scrutinize statistics.

What is usually the primary reason 8th graders do not make it into IMSA. Like, the most common thing that holds back the 8th graders?
@lsutiger25 if an 8th grader can outdo most 9th graders in terms of SAT scores and activities then he/she will likely be accepted.
And @lsutiger25 , @aminorspark is right. Don’t stress over IMSA too much. Just do your best at school and everything will be alright.
