Good luck! Let’s see how it goes
@ads123 Yeah, good luck to you too!
CHANCE ME:
GPA: 3.8(If I get straight A’s next quarter, 3.81)
SAT Score: 700 Math, 650 Reading (I SUCK AT READING ;-
School: Metea Valley (My school has so many people applying to IMSA so much competition)
Awards: THIS IS MY WEAK SPOT. I only got an AMC-8 high score award and State science fair Gold. So sad I know.
EC’s: I do a whole bunch of extra curricular activities so hopefully this will compensate for my lack of awards.
Uhhh would it help if 2 of my siblings went to IMSA as well as my mom. So, its expected for me to get into IMSA
Also for freshman year I take Honors Biology, Honors Pre-Calc, and Honors English for the three subjects IMSA looks at
You’re getting in @floridagators100
@YoloSwagMaster aha I wish man. I lack so much compared to other applicants. I got no huge awards and my GPA is horrible. Well I take 3 grades ahead math but I don’t think IMSA cares about that. But it means a lot that you think I can get in!
I agree, I think your chances are very good except you are from Metea Valley and I think IMSA tries to take only so many from a certain school. Your scores a very good but your competition are you co-applicants from Metea
yeah. also my friend is wondering if he has a better chance than me because he goes to Neuqua? Is that so?
There are lot of applicants from Naperville and I think that is a disadvantage because IMSA likes to “diversify”. But then again, all the Naperville schools are good so no major downside here
Florida how are you taking Honors Pre- Calculus as a Freshman.
@rattybatty so basically:
6th grade: Pre-Algebra
7th grade: Algebra 1
8th grade: Geometry
8th grade summer: Algebra 2 Trig (Needed to get a 93 in this class in order to be allowed to take pre calc freshman year)
9th grade: Pre-Calc
Also @rattybatty do you think i have a chance of making IMSA?
Florida I thought you cannot do Algebra 2/Trig over the summer as a incoming freshman. Thats what my friend from Nequa told. Also, give all the classes and extracurricular activities you do. Your gpa is fine you SAT scores are amazing you have the awards. I would say your getting in. Also, how many people are applying for IMSA from Metea Valley.
@rattybatty oh my bad I meant that I did algebra 2/trig while doing geometry. I did geometry in school, and algebra 2/trig in COD on weekends. And metea said it would count so yeah I did this for the whole school year and went straight to precalc. And ECS:
- Student Council- 7th, 8th, 9th
- Math Counts- 7th 8th
- robotics club - 8th
- STEM club - 7th, 8th, 9th
- Tennis - I’ve played for 6 years and accumulated many awards
- Track - got 7th in conference for hurdles out of district 204/203
And I know 15 people applying to IMSA from metea there probably is more
Anybody here attending EIP?
Florida what is COD again.
The only two acronyms I can think of for COD is call of duty or college of dupage
Yes, college of dupage.
How do you sign up for that class I am just curious? Is there a application process for that.
