Florida you will make it because your math class is really advanced because by your senior year you are taking College Level Calc
For the COD class, you had to have finished Geoemetry and Algebra 1 to do it. But I was IN Geometry during the time. Luckily COD said it was ok. And luckily metea would accept the class as high school credit. I needed a 93 in that class, and I got a 93.5 (phew).
aha thanks for the assurance :D. But, the problem with metea is the academic diversity. I know so many people who are strong in like something I’m not. One guy has a 3.95 and a 2300 and is applying to IMSA. But he takes algebra 2/trig. A girl in my Pre-Calc class has a better GPA then me but a worse SAT then me. And another person won many accolades in math and science. Getting into IMSA is sort of like a race and only the people with the best combination can get in aha. So, hopefully I’m a finalist in this race
Hey guys, After visiting IMSA this weekend I am super nevous about getting in. The place is amazing! I know they released a draft form of the application but, does anyone know when the real one is being released? I can’t wait! >.<
@Qpint22 what’s your statistics and demographics
I have a 3.73 GPA
I am taking the SAT again in December but, my last scores were a 710 in Reading and a 640 in Math.
And I am a white female from Springfield.
@Qpint22 Ok, that GPA is not the best, but since you live in Springfield then its fine. And for SAT’s your reading score is amazing, but maybe increase your math score by like 30 or 40 points. This will compensate for your low GPA.
Also, what math course are you in. And, are you in honors science and honors english.
@floridagators100 thanks for the advice. I did not really study for my first SAT so I am pretty confident that I can get at least my Math score up and maybe even my reading. I am honors biology and honors English. I took pre-algebra, algebra I and II in middle school and am taking geometry right now.
Does anyone know how IMSA looks at GPA. I know it is english, math, and science. But do A- Round up to A’s. And would a B+ round down to a B?
UGHhhhhghefahguihaeiufhaiuhrauih. I am so upset guys all my friends have like 3.85’s and 3.9’s, and I’m sitting here with a 3.78! Sure they do not take Pre-Calc, but still I feel literally the worst applicant in the pool
Florida dont fret. Ask your conseolurs the average GPA of the students that apply to IMSA from your school or the area of Naperville
How come your GPA is low?
Aha, well so 7th grade I sorta blew off school. I wasn’t that motivated to learn new things, etc. So I finished 7th grade with a 3.4(ik so bad). Then I decided to actually start working hard in school and finished 8th grade with a 4.0. And now in 9th grade I’m still getting the A’s
Ohhh. You should be fine. If IMSA sees progression in your grades they will be fine. Getting straight As in HS will be good enough.
Does anyone think that IMSA will take in account the fact that my school is a high-intensity college prep school? My physics honors grade dropped to a B+ and, while I can def pull it up back to an A before finals, I just want to make sure that that momentary drop won’t sour my application
Get a second opinion, but I wouldn’t take the chance of having that B.
I figured. Oh well, I’m making the test that dropped my grade up after school anyways so hopefully I do better this time.
How are you in Honors Physics as a 9th grader
What high school/middle school do you go to
I went to a super small public school and I go to CCHS right now. Physics is the standard 9th grader class but I’m cleared to skip biology.
