Yeah. I hate if when the students know what they’re doing but the school doesn’t have funding. @red42413
@Yoloswagmaster It wasn’t that the school didn’t have the funding, it was more of that the school thought the robotics club was an unnecessary waste of time and money. They discontinued the club at my middle school this year and put the money towards the boys basketball team’s trips according to my old team coach. It’s kinda sad to see the team go but there’s not much you can really do 'bout those kinds of things.
Lol cause you know that students are obviously more successful playing basketball rather then doing something that actually relates to a science! (Sarcasm)
Totally!!!1111!!! But then again, oh well. There’s not much I can do about it and it’s their loss. I just kinda hope it comes back to bite them in the butt.
I made a folder full of IMSA related bookmarks and some links for if and when we get accepted. I’m also making spreadsheets of supplies we’ll need if we get in and ways to split them with the roommates and I’m 110% jumping the gun here but I’m kinda excited to apply and hopefully get in.
Lol, I am also already preparing for maybe getting in. I have bookmarked a bunch of room ideas
Yeah. Honestly I think we will all get in. I’ve seen a lot of stats from a lot of people in my area and there not the best. I’m sure it’s different for you guys but I don’t see much competition over here and our SATS are good.
I really hope that we all do and I’m sure that most, if not all, will! It’ll be great going into IMSA already knowing a few people, too. There isn’t any on my end either except for one guy and I don’t know that much about him but we’re in a pretty lowely populated area so…
I would laugh if it turned out at some of us already know each other. The community is pretty small for people who would anyways so that would be awesome as heck!
Also, does anyone else feel like there is a crazy low amount of people in the forum right now? Application season should have started a month ago(ish) and there aren’t too many people on.
I know! I came to this forum last year and there was a lot of people in it, I learned a lot from it too. When (gotta stay optimistic) we get in, I really want to see you guys in person. Also people from last years forum. That would be cool, but also kinda awkward I am guessing.
I don’t know anyone that is applying from my area but, I am sure there is a few. Two of my middle school class mates applied last year as 8th graders they both got accepted and one went and one declined. My friend I was going to apply with moved to Texas.
I feel like the forum will pick up once the applications come and out and people start really working on them.
Man, if only I lived in locations that you guys live in. I counted about 16 people applying from metea and maybe more xD. But, I hope i get in!
I am no expert but I think in your case @floridagators100 what you need to do is do something unique and put it on your application. Every single college LOVES unique applicants so I presume it’s the same for IMSA.
@floridagators100 Oh oh geez 0.o If I recall correctly, IMSA released a tip sheet on how to make your application stand out and look good. It’s a few years old though, I found it by stalking the BigSibling ask.fm but it should still be good for tips
I hope you guys understand that if you don’t get into IMSA it’s not a big deal.
It is great for IMSA but, not so good for anything else. In my case my home school in Springfield is pretty bad. We have around 23% drop out rate with only around 27% students being “ready for collage coursework”. So basically no one applies from my school because no one here cares about school. So bummer. But, at least it gives me a lot of motivation to go to IMSA!
@rattybatty ummmm… Pretty big deal for me. If I do t get into IMSA I am going to run out of math classes. I want to take Calc 2 my senior year and my school does not offer that. I am also going to run out of computer science class after my sophomore. So yeah… But, your right I want die or anything.
@rattybatty Same as @Qpint22 said. My current plan with my counselor means I would end up finishing my school’s BC Calc in my junior year so I would run out by my senior year. In addition, I will test next year to see if I can test out of Biology due to taking a HS level honors course in it in my 8th grade year as well as Chem due to taking a course in that at CTD for credit.
Plus, I really need the hands-on style of learning which my school doesn’t do due to the sheer size. So I have a lot of reasons learning-related for wanting to go to IMSA, haha. (Sorry, that got kinda rambly.)
@rattybatty Yeah I know it’s not a big deal, but it would be such a plus to go to IMSA. And I have typical Indian parents who are mega pro IMSA
@YoloSwagMaster does state science fair gold tier classify as unique as it’s the best you can get to in all of the state.
Okay red what’s your high school. Quinten I can understand how you feel.
@rattybatty I really don’t like giving out info like that but I go to CCHS. Small school, true, but all my classes have ~30 kids
